lol, I was making fun at you for saying your waiting for a cfw to play mkv files directly. Nothing wrong with asking for mkv support, although I don't see anyone hacking their ps3 for the lack of it. :wallbash:

That's alright :samui:

Me, I'm in love with modifying everything to the maximum ... I even went and hacked my good ol' iPod Nano 1st gen to get a custom theme on it. Looks far better now. Will post the pictures in the Apple thread soon.

I'd certainly hack my PS3 if that let me transfer files via Bluetooth though :wallbash:

Hope Sony ain't reading this, or they'll turn off Bluetooth support and makes us use the short little wires they give with the system to play

Yes, but videos are not "converted" to mp4, its the extension. Just like people miss the fact that mkv is a container. Anyway better to just leave it at automatic. And you don't have to transcode DTS unless your speaker system does not support it.

Okay Gaurav, I tried the approach mentioned in your blog with no success. Same old problem - video is lagging. I guess I'll have to stream it. No other option :D

Damn, it should have worked. It's worked even if other methods haven't. tried mkv2vob?

And are you streaming over 802.11g or n? Or ethernet?

@arch-on Quick, change that "friend's" to "my"

Yes man, tried mkv2vob in first place. Then tried the method mentioned on your blog. Same issue.

I'm using Ethernet, available in laptop, and streaming with PS3MediaServer is fine. Don't know why this file ain't working properly after converting with mkv2vob or with your method. Ah, well....I guess I'll stream. Thanks man :good:
