i ll Try n do that...but can you tell me like wat kind of issues it has....i m totally new to gaming...

No specific issues as such. Its just more prone to errors like YLOD (similar to red ring) or SOD (Blu Ray lens not working).

So many of us in IVG had to replace our 40 gb ps3s. My own 2.5 years old one is having a problem with the BD drive.

to my knowledge only the initial 60 GB versions (with 4 USB slots) were BC. correct me if i am wrong.

60 gb had hardware bc. There were other models with software emulation.

lol we knowz the painz.

:(

Not really, except if you bought it from Croma that offers 2 years additional warranty for a price.

Try if you can exchange it for a new Phat version.

I say for 19k the dealer chipkaofied a crap deal. Take it back to him n demand a 120gb slim one.... that's what u should get for 19k

+1 , u should had atleast taken the 80GB one if u wanted the phat one.

actually... it would be good if u do get either of those problems within warranty period...

u'll probably get a better replacement model, though may take them a couple of months.

To the OP

threaten the dealer that u will drag his sorry ace to the consumer court for misrepresentation of pricing and im sure he'll buckle in and do something about it.

Dude just dont take this lying down... 19k for 40gb is a ripoff

This actually a solution to your problem. If you can purposely get your PS3 to YLOD during warranty then they would have to replace it with a 120gb slim model.

Wouldn't usually suggest this but its sonys problem for bringing out faulty hardware.

is the Warranty offficial or Dealer Warranty? if its official then i think if the ps3 dead by any chance you will be getting a 80GB fat one as i dont think they are being produced now.

Best is to threaten the Dealer that you will go for a case in the court or something like that.

How old are you?
