WhiteWolf
One of the users at Expreview forums has posted the complete GTX 460 768MB press kit and according to the performance slides, the upcoming GTX 460 768 is a bit faster than the "generic" HD 5830 and a bit slower than the GTX 465. The slides refer to standard GTX 460, so we are looking at reference cooled card working at 675MHz for the GPU, 1350MHz for shaders, 3600MHz for 768MB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 192-bit memory interface. This means that the GTX 460 1GB should end up even closer to the GTX 465 card and might end up to be even faster in some cases and we don't even want to mention factory overclocked cards. The HD 5830 manages to outperfrom the GTX 460 768 only in Unigine Heaven v2.1 benchmark, while in other benchmarks and games, GTX 460 768 is faster. Of course, bear in mind that these slides come from an Nvidia partner and we would surely like to see more benchmarks. http://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/graphics/...press-kit-leaks ------- hmm 5850 still more powerful than 460... devil_angel
Any chance in hell of this being about 12-14k? That would certainly be a sweet spot for pricing, but with Nvidia, one can never guess anything

Is not imp to run every game at 1080p. I run every game maxed @ 1440*900 that's more than enough for me, and connected to my bravia looks better than most console games. Aftrunner
GTS 250. Its a pretty good card and TBH it could easily last me until the next generation of consoles make upgrading mandatory. But there is always the itch to get something better.

Mostly I do the same......But for crysis and Metro, I had to go down! P.S. My native res. is 1600 x 900 EDIT: GTS 250. Aftrunner
Yeah upgrading would also let me upgrade my monitor. Half the reason I am stuck with this crappy 19 incher is cause my card cant probably handle anything higher than 1400 unless I tone down the details etc. The other reason is I am hoping 3D monitors will drop to sub 15k in a few months. Uh.....don't get me wrong, but I'd suggest skipping 3D this gen. It's way too over-hyped. The tech isn't that much advanced when compared to last gen tech (nvision too) and it's still a lot of strain on the eyes. You'd be spending tonnes of cash just so that you're eyes get spoilt. So, why the hassle? P.S. That's my opinion
AtheK
i agree 3D won't catch up too soon, its too much stress on eyes and you start getting headaches in sometime.
Aftrunner
I like 3D. Plus its not that expensive. A normal monitor would be about 12k. If a 3D monitor is 3-4 k more its totally worth it. Only thing expensive would be the Nvidia 3D kit.

As long as it looks good to you, you don't need to run it at 1080p. 1440x900 still looks pretty good on a PC.
