You win and you loose in some games, and no one ever said it is a better card then 5850, it is just evident that it is running pretty clsoe to it, and i just said that if i have to put money on table, 460 GTX at 230$ on table and 5850 is sitting at 300$, choice is so clear.

But please, please, please buy a 5850...

Your money buddy.

Its just weird you called out aman for saying the difference is 2-5 FPS and the best you can find is 7. Do you even have a monitor that goes above 1080p?

Face it. Its a really good VFM card. Ati got served and will be scrambling for a price cut ASAP.

EDIT: I game on 1920x1080,nowadays 22 inches are going for less than 8k

More reviews.

Unsurprisingly everyone (except babloos perhaps ) loves it.

It's rare to come across a universally lauded product nowadays, but NVIDIA's fresh new GTX 460 is just that sort of exceptional creation. Contrary to its GTX 465 elder brother, the 460 isn't a chopped-down top-tier part and is instead built on the new GF104 core. This smaller core, designed from the start to perform humbler functions, has ameliorated the famed power inefficiency that has been a Fermi signature so far, and has resulted in AnandTech describing the new card as "the $200 king."

Either way, the GTX 460 seems to have completely killed off the market for the 465 and is stepping all over ATI's toes with its competitive pricing and, for once, decent heat and power metrics. Oh, and apparently it "overclocks like a monster" too

well the fact of the day is NV f**ked up with initial Fermi cards, it was quite expected but they ended up being mega fail...now that they have done something good(Brilliant in this case) we should give the credit where it is due...

We all rapped nv on the knuckes for being bad, we can't see them fail, but the credit went to ATI, but now they have redesigned and come up better, the next cards coming would blow you even more, its a cycle, ATI ruled for almost over a year, NV might turn it on now, and we as consumers are the one benefitting the most out of it...

So babloos stop being ignorant and just enjoy wtever you have..

Got it.....Next time I buy a card, I'll prefer Evga!

I've had ASUS cards all along.. mostly Nvidia except a 9800 Pro.. but not one of them has given up on me. All the systems with them still going strong. Right from a Riva 128 to the 8800GTX I currently use. And yes I've OC'd my Geforce 3 Ti once or so and my 8800GTX plenty. You could give ASUS a look.

plz plz do u really play at 1680x1050.from what i have seen at anandtech 5850 is 10 percent faster than 460 gtx that is for 1920x1080 5850 is meant for 1920x1080,y do u need 5850 for playing at 1680x1050

I play at 1440x900. :P That doesn't mean I'll settle for a lesser card just like that. But I'd still prefer a single card to an SLI solution. At the most, I'd use an older card as a PhysX card.

and great reviews keep coming...

Granted, the HD 5850 outperforms the GTX 460 1GB at high resolutions such as 2,560 x 1,600, but these cards aren't aimed at people with expensive 30in monitors. The GTX 460 1GB has it where it counts: at 1,680 x 1,050 and 1,920 x 1,200 with AA enabled it comfortably beats the HD 5850 for performance, value for money, or both
