Hey,

I'm going to go for the finest in laptop hardware and wanted to know if anyone owned an Alienware on this board, and if so where did they buy it from??

The Dell/Alienware site itself is sayin around 1200$=56K for M15x, but i have no idea how much it'll come down to after shipping and taxes etc...

Buygamingcomputerstuff.com on this site itself, is sellin M15x for 97K!

I dont quite understand why the price is around 40k higher...

I'm also confused on whether to buy the Alienware lappy or a Dell XPS 16 (read a price somwehere which said it was for 949$), and i think its almost as good as M17x , M15x of Alienware...

Any help? Which is better, how should i go about buying it(from us, shipping or...??) etc

Studio XPS 16 is awesome. Alienwares are sh*t expensive bro. Dont go for it. Plus they are freaking Behemoths... Huge and extremely bulky. The gfx cards Studio XPS 16 is offering is pretty decent for gaming. Plus the indian variants of Alienwares arent sporting the latest gfx cards.

I suggest if money is not a constraint then go for the lappys which are bundled with the Ati 5870. That is a kick a*s card for lappys. I was gonna buy either an MSI GX 740 or an Asus House of Gamers laptop which boasted of 5870 gfx card but decided to stick to Dell Studio XPS as i did not want to get into the whole hassle of importing. :)

bro the i7 alienware seems to be crappin out on people, and the dell fully loaded still doesnt offer the graphic that asus g73jh does, which is 5870. recently one of the most advanced/best graphic cards available for laptops...

asus g73jh has been named appropriately as the alienware killer.. :D

The asus model which you are talking about was the one i had in mind in the first place bro... It has some terrific reviews and the gfx card is one of the best in the market for an affordable price (SLIs and Fermis are way overpriced). I wanted to avoid the hassle of importing the lappy so went for a Dell laptop. :)

You cant get a better lappy for this price and config. Just close your eyes and go for it...

yeah i was confused between the dell and g73hj but then the battery life for dell is about 2-2and a half hours but for g73h its about 1and a half hour not enough even for a movie

and then i prefer the glossy look than a plain mette finish ..and then again i dont know where to get the g73hj from
