Death Stryke
@OP its true that most TVs, refridgerators, ACs, electric shavers wont work since North America uses a different line voltage than India. You would need to use a step up convertor for the purpose. Electronics like your laptop charger, mobile charger etc will work though. Just check the ratings mentioned behind each electrical/electronic device. If it mentions 220-240V it wont work there directly. If it mentions 100-240V it will work

Somebody
my Plasama has AC 100-240 V -50/60 Hz 1.9A ...it means it'll work there...for sure right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nd Bose and other gadgets have 220-240v....i can take there and plug on with step up convertor...then they'll work for sure?? right Even for the plasma TV and the electronics that have 100-240V, you will still need to use a different plug. The plugs here have straight pins unlike the round pins in India. The small converter kinda thingies shouldn't be too expensive. It just makes the round-pin fit into a flat-pin thing if you know what I'm saying. maybe something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/EU-TWO-ROUND-PIN-US-2-FLAT-PINS-POWER-OUTLET-ADAPTER-/220328227705

But you would need a adapter. Just go to Croma or some electronic shop and ask for travel adapter. As for your bose and other gadgets, u can buy a good step up convertor from Toronto itself.
