Its called as buffing and like DA said its complicated... You can buff it in many ways...

Here are some methods (They might seem funny but they actually might work :P ) -

I had once buffed a movie DVD using Vaseline and it started working again :D But I would suggest you first try it on some cheap DVD before trying it on an expensive game...

Well they can always try it on some crap movies/games first (Like Alone in the Dark :wallbash: ) before they try it on something expensive...

Trust me, they'll be happy that such crappy disks got scratched and throw it away anyway :P

WTF??? remind me never to buy games or movies from these guys.... :threatenlumber:

jhol masters.... :chair:

what's jhol yaar?

And TBH, I don't do this to anything other than personal disks. I would never sell a buffed disk to anyone. There are certain ethics there....even if the disk is scratched, I would sell as it is stating the fact that it is scratched. Besides, all my console diskettes are in ace condition, one of the reasons why I'm at the giving end, in this thread. :P

Dabba :chair:

First off I have never tried buffing a game disc... Even if I did I would never sell it... All my games are always maintained in the same condition that I received them in... But movie DVDs do tend to get scratched since other people also handle them...

I don't give my DVDs... Relatives just take them :samui:

And they rarely return them and even if they do, it usually has a lot of scratches :ranting: Why can't people learn how to handle DVDs properly
