But with 360 slim release, 360 sales should pick up - specially after halo reach is released. M$ was kicking sony's a*s even when they didnt have wifi/optical port included with their consoles. Now they should pull ahead more. One more important fact is Sony might lead M$ is worldwide but it lags in the most crucial market- the US. HundredProofSam Posted July 29, 2010 Report Share Posted July 29, 2010 I'm sure Uncharted 2 and GOW3 had quite an impact on their FY 09 hardware sales. Not to mention other stuff like Heavy Rain. And I'm not just talking about NPD here. Europe too. Take India for example. But one of their main strengths is blu ray. One of the MAIN reasons for the success of xbox is Halo and xbox live. M$ got really lucky in that Bungie made such an awesome series. Halo CE was the only reason why people bought xbox1. Also M$ were the innovators in integrated servers for online play. PS2 required developers to provide their own servers but xbox 1 introduced centralised servers which was a huge success. Sony has been playing catch up on xbox live ever since.
