vinitwins
^ most mkvs that i have use AC3 audio - and as i said, you can split and back up your source mkv as well as the resulting mp4 file on multiple DVD5s - which give you the maximum freedom... CarbonCore
Heh Heh !! All this trouble I went through with Gotsent when my PC can play 720p content effortlessly. All I needed to do was use VLC instead GOM Player and thanks to the power of the onboard hardware decoder on the Nvidia 8600GTS (G90 core methinks), the CPU utilization rarely moves above 20%. I'm pretty sure that my PC can also handle 1080p MKV files with ease. Yeah I use VLC as well for mkv files. Its a universal app so natively runs on intel mac. I tried 720p movie and it ran without any hiccup on Macbook Pro, although both cpu cores ran at 50%+.
MarketTantrik
^^ Probably because your Macbook Pro doesn't have the new ATi 2xxx series chipsets. (Do Macs still use ATi or has Apple shifted to Nvidia?) If it had a graphics chip that had onboard hardware decoding, the CPU utlisation would have fallen to less than 30% at a minimum. CarbonCore
Its ATI X1600 256MB card, now they have changed over to nVidia. Apple keeps changing from ATI to nVidia and back quite frequently.
MightySkate
I have a q: I recently downloaded a dual audio mkv movie (russian being the default language and english). When using GotSent, and muxing it to VOB the final video i get is with the russian audio. Now this is a quote from the GotSent website: Bug found in 0.22 : extracting an alternate audio track fails, only the first audio track found is extracted. this will be fixed soon, but needs to be correctly tested first. UPDATE: it should be possible to set your language preference in the HAALI options, which can be found during playing of the MKV on the PC by double clicking the icon in the task bar, and then setting in the 'Options' tab, under 'languages', and audio language priority your language settings: for example, if your language preference is Spanish, you should set the value to: 'spa, eng' to set the priority to Spanish, if available, then English, otherwise the default language will be used. Other language codes which are likely to be used are: dut (Dutch) ita (Italian) swe (Swedish) por (Portuguese) scr (Croatian) scc (Serbian) slv (Slovenian). This will be active for both audio extraction, as well as viewing the MKV files on the PC. The same can be done for subtitles, which will be added soon. I've properly written english in the options menu of Haali splitter, but i still end up with a russian audio. Someone pls help. Thanks.
vinitwins
1. copy mkv file to program files>gotsent>MKVToolnix 2. open cmd prompt & goto program files>gotsent>MKVToolnix 3. mkvmerge --split 100m -o output.mkv NAMEOFMOVIE.mkv this will split your source movie into 100mb segments - press ctrl-c to cancel after 2-3 segments have been created. now repeat this process on the 3rd or 4th segment BUT change 100m to 15m (15mb) and email me one of the resultant files i'll investigate it further myself... MightySkate
I finally did it In the GotSent folder itself using mkvinfo.exe i scanned my mkv file and it listed as Track 1 for the video, Track 2 for russian language and Track 3 for english language. The previous problem i faced while using GotSent was by default it takes the first and second track of an mkv file and not subsequent tracks. I stumbled upon this site which had a detailed guide on how to extract individual video and audio tracks and combine them into mpg (VOB) format with AC3 It's basically the same process as GotSent only this one is done manually and takes the same amount of time as GotSent. vinitwins
^ have you successfully streamed 720p or 1080p native content (especially over a wifi connection)?? :eyebrow2: V
MightySkate
@ LA: 720p might work fine, but not over a wireless setup. Both wired and wireless cannot handle 1080p as of now.

vinitwins
the profile level of the video stream might be higher than 4.2 (ps3 works best with 4.1 video streams; 4.2 - 5.1 'can' cause errors) V
