Kazekage Gaara
Hi guys, A very good friend of mine is interested in setting up a wireless network at his home (wifi). Now, his intentions are to connect 3 desktop PCs on different floors of his home. The building is owned by him, so that isn't gonna be an issue. Can you guys recommend us some good quality wifi routers ? Like which one is better ? D-Link, NetGear, Linksys, or any other that you guys might know. Please help us out. Thanx a lot in advance. Desperately waiting for a reply
aRch-0n
You'll need a router with good range(or a big a*s antenna to hv 80% connectivity) in order to use wifi for that kind of setup, id recommend getting port wires and connecting those wires to a single router, ( linksys has a few router which support i guess 5 devices) that way you can get the best result. Go for linksys if you can, dlink is good but in my personal opinion I find it overrated but still thats me,
Aftrunner
Yeah I am using a Linksys myself (WRT54G) and I get coverage on all 3 floors of my house. I can even catch the Wifi way out in the street 20M from my place.

I bet they are some kind of PCI cards or anything else that you use ? How much will they cost ? Thanx a lot man
TheHitman
Don't buy a wireless G router anymore, Wireless-N is the way to go... Theoretically it has much better range and speed...
aRch-0n
Yeah go for that, and a good router should cost around 2.5k to 5k, ( I guess)

The Assassin
Can Wi-Fi usb adapter be used with xbox?
TheHitman
Not sure if a single router would be sufficient for a 6 storied building...Most routers don't work well when there are a lot of walls in the way. Brands i would stick to would be Buffalo and Linksys. Here's another suggestion, you can use 2-3 cheap routers to make ur entire building WIFI. What you do is basically make one router the primary router and then use the other 2 as repeaters.. Also, post in TE or E if you want more detailed answers...
