Bulovski
Apparently you really need to find other players to beat the bosses. Kind of mandatory co-op.
Bulovski
Played a bit last night. If you've not played the previous iterations (at least a few of them) give this a complete miss. The gameplay really hasn't changed at all. 6 levels and you can play as any of the 6 protagonists from earlier games. There is a time limit in which to beat the boss of the level. However, getting to him in time requires you to find checkpoints and die and buy items and find items and basically power up till you can reach him. If you've played any Castlevania game before expect the exact same gameplay - it's not super super difficult like some of the previous iterations. The biggest trouble is there's zero in-game help. So if you're a first time player you'll give up immediately. There's a sort of manual in the menu but it's not really helpful. Game looks decent - the menus and all look much better actually since they are new. Am going to try out the co-op and mp next and then hopefully whip some dracula butt. Bulovski
EG review - ouch 4 I agree with most of the review btw. This game is only for castlevania fans as a pastime till that other one comes out.
Right
Hehe... Somehow I was expecting this....gone the days of Scamco and Crapcom HDfying the old games with no or very little rework. Retro still has a space but companies should be careful about the pricings and understand how people like to play the games now. Too much of difficulty just kills the interest. I remember playing Islander on my NES, till 6-1 or 7-1 continuously. And boy, wasn't that hard? I got nearly killed there.....with no saves and very few 1-Ups. In the later levels the gfx started getting blurred/disappearing. IT WAS CRAZY. Today someone ask me to go through something similar, I will say f**k it. Bulovski
I don't mind the toughness - but here the difficulty is from controls and lack of guide.
Mel81x
total waste of time imo. I mean why would anyone play this unless they had someone to co-op with them and even if you did I don't see the point really.
Bulovski
It's Castlevania - the series has some excellent gameplay. Good enemies / moves / items and can be really difficult. Has great bosses as well.
