Emo-Iwata
hmmm, well, no video game is "bad", for me games are like art, they are in all, someones vision, be it accurate or not. no one goes out there way to make a sh*t game, outside situations can cause things to change. i feel 'lack of appreciation' is what makes a game 'bad'. if u don't see the hard work that a games has gone through, the effort of the team...... then its not the game..... its you. does superman 64,drake and the 99 dragons,Charlie's angels ring a bell?i can safely say they didn't even try why should there be a spoiler in this topic?? This appreciation cannot be applied broadly across any form of work. Regardless of how much effort one puts into maintaining an open mind, there will always be some pieces of work that are just plain bad and basically have no redeeming factor, whatsoever. If you think a bit, you will find several examples of this in movies, music, paintings and most definitely in games. Bad games affect us more than bad movies or music because the physical effort and time we invest in playing a game is far higher than in the case of watching a movie or listening to an album. This is why even a "somewhat bad" or "average" game tends to get critically hammered in peer reviews.
vinitwins
^ you forgot books - the efforts invested by both parties viz. author and reader (and hopefully the rewards) are pretty substantial for both... V
