Prefer anything which gives you more performance over style. Dell Studio, or any oother budget gaming laptop is a good choice. And a word of advice, once you get the laptop, first and foremost, format it and reinstall Windows. Don't use the OS shipped with the laptop, its always full of crap. :)

Edited to comply with strict guidelines of fanboyism. :D

with a budget of 60k, going for mac is liking spending half your salary on cosmetics! that 60k mac config will cost 40k if you go for dell. When you are conscious about your budget, that's the best advice I can give. :)

As much as I love macs, the current pricing doesn't cut it. It was different in 2009 when they were a lot better in the pricing. They bumped the prices of the MBP lineup this time.

I would totally recommend the Asus Bamboo series at 60k. They have the looks+performance+built and superb battery life. I am not fond of Dells and HP laptops as such. Their battery life is never up to the mark.

Of course if he isn't gaming, i'd totally recommend the basic macbook. For basic usage I dont see how having an i3 will help over a 2.5 ghz c2d

MSI GX640/760.

Nehru place available.

Aaankhen band kar ke kharcha.

PS-Mac sucks. It's for people who can't get the hang, realize the power of Windows, or girls who like to take infinite silly pictures of themselves making silly faces.

I will not take the bait :D . There is no use in debating with people dont know anything and yet claim absurdities. Look at the Apple thread and see there was a decently constructive debate on this topic.

I will still suggest Asus.

The rest of it is f**ked up except the taking asus bamboo seriesthumbsup.gif

Me just troll

any way for a proper suggestion check msi out they have awesome laptops .. and if no gaming and programming is involved then mac is the way to go but for people like me mac is :nono:

msi may not have good aftersales service but they sure do have awesome configs ,, CX420 is for Rs. 44,999 but you can get it cheaper at places ..

MSI i agree is really spending a lot of effort in marketing their laptops and specs are awesome as hell. But you could get that in other established companies at a slightly higher price. I just wouldn't dive in and be a guinea pig just yet. Let them spend a year in the Indian market and see how their products, after sales support, service network etc is. I frankly dont know much about MSI in India and haven't seen them in shops yet, so I personally wouldn't recommend.

I am actually looking for a 20-30k small 13 inch laptop for my mom who just uses it sometime for email and browsing. Any good laptops in that range?

Dont get pissed off! :console:

Yea that what i am saying i literally told i suggested mac and he is not buying then why are you still telling Dont go for Mac. Mac is only good for daily use.

i told in the first post itself that he doesn't want mac so what is the need of even bringing mac to the topic.

They way it sounded was not good. Anyways, I suggested it, after reading just your budget and requirement. Mac never came to my mind after reading the budget. anything less than 80k is useless for mac. anyways, noticed, that this option is canceled later on.

I would say, go for studio, with same hardware. It may cost you 2-3k more, but is more sturdy and uses better quality products. Like speakers of inspiron sounds like tin can, and keys to switch on wifi, change brightness are clubbed together with function keys. Inspiron was started as a low-budget model for studio laptops, afaik.
