Cash
lol i suggested inspiron for DS's mom as he was looking for something pretty cheap.
Death Stryke
Yeah, I saw the inspiron as well, but that goes above 30k. I see these eBay offers for decently specc'ed laptops at 24-25k. . But Im scared of buying such an expensive device through eBay. Anyway thanks
Cash
Buying through ebay is safe when you use PayPal.
Shantz
legend.. as DS said bamboo is a good option.. Asus has launched only the 14 inch model in india though..buygamingstuff is selling it for around 57k.. Here is a link for the most comprehensive information about the bamboo series lappies (with more focus towards u33jc, though) http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-reviews-owners-lounges/496248-asus-u-series-bamboo-collection-owners-thread-u33jc-u43jc-u53jc.html I might cave in to u43jc seeing that the resolutions are so low (720p), 15 inch screen might seem too bad with it from my current laptop.. EDIT: WTF!! Why are you all people going, for 1st bold, 2nd bold, for that bold, see that bold, see this bold.. Linux Chrome has a problem with IVG's font and I can't see anything in boldface/strongface,
lithuvien
Get your cousin a Thinkpad. They are the best, or used to when they were being manufactured by IBM
Death Stryke
There is never a perfect browser. Chrome, while lightweight, fails to display a lot of old webpages correctly. Firefox, one helluva bloated browser with no memory management, is still in my system because my netbanking website works properly only on that browser. Safari is somewhere between these 2 as it has bit of both these issues.

Choron ka raja
Thread cleaned. Those of you involved in the slapfest are being warned. why the warning to me? i was just having a civilised discussion. And that discussion too was because of someone pointed out that I suggested not to go for mac. that's all. Where was my fault in that? And I even suggested a lot of times that both OS are good, and all. I appreciate the cleanup though. Thread drifted a lot from the actual topic, but warning. anyways I am out, before it again goes for next few pages of discussion. P.S. I don't even like flamewars. I just don't like the fact that people diss something without even understanding. And may be I am wrong, but I feel, saying that MS products are good, usually ends up in flamewars, and people calling me fanboy.
Madhav
I think rather than creating a new thread i could use this existing one for my query... I'm really, really interested in buying ASUS EEEPC Lamborghini VX6 netbook Any one who think its a bad idea?? & why?? Also, can somebody please tell me an official Asus dealer in New Delhi where I could visit & purchase in person!!

Madhav
what was your motivating factor for this product apart from the lamborghini eye candy ? and why not a laptop at the same budget ? in terms of a netbook, it is either this or Sony Vaio YB series... all the others do not look sturdy to me... ive seen Dell mini and its a no from me! also, eye candy... yes! spec... yes! Price Rs. 35,480/-... hell yes!! If there's is something wrong in this choice then I would love to know it!!

If there's is something wrong in this choice then I would love to know it!! ohh if netbook is a deciding factor then i may not be of much help , not familiar with those yet but here's a laptop in the similar price window and pretty decent specs for mid-high end apps and mild gaming , check it out just incase http://www.dell.com/in/p/inspiron-14r/pd?oc=t540610in8&model_id=inspiron-14r

So, 11"-12" is definitely a deciding factor for me... & as far as I know, yu get everything in a netbook except for CD/DVD-ROM drive.. which is of no use to me anyway! Bird Bird Bird
Yeah I will be.. but why yu say that.??.. 8/10 people are buying dell these days.. Long story. Posted it twice on IVG. Search the "PC Experts" thread. Short version: Horrible build quality. Refurbished material. Died on nearly 60-70% of friends who got it (nearly 2 years back). I think Afty also said something on the same line. The only good thing about Dell is their CC. Probably to cover up all the messy assembling they do. :|
