Can anyone suggest some good Batman arcs?

My hush copy is pretty torn up now, getting a new one from FK and might expand the collection.

Already have Arkham Asylum, Dark Victory, Son of the demon, Strange Apparition, Monster Men, RIP, The killing joke, Heart of Hush, long halloween and absolution.

Black mirror and the new 52., year one.. All of them are brilliant and highly recommended. Also if you dont mind old school artwork, Knightfall series is brilliant.

Eh, so just finished this:

criminalv6.jpg

and kicked myself for not having read it earlier ! Astonishing piece of work by Brubaker. Such a perfect mix of crime and teenage romance. Plus the obvious characters driven from Archie comics. Felt right at home. Brilliant, simply brilliant !

i actually just got done reading this. the whole criminal series actually. the funny part is that while reading it, there was always this thought in the back of my head that the story setting is similar to something i've read before but i couldn't place it. i just realized that it's archie :P.

are there any other such gn/comic series that are not superhero based and don't go on forever?

What Maddy said. Year one is pretty cool. Also read The Black Glove. Knightfall series is simply awesome.

^^ Flipkart or HS18. But I would say go to your local LandMark first. If they don't have stock, ask them if any of their other branches have and check the price. From my experience, 70 times out of 100 Landmark will have a lower price than these online shops. Shocking but true !

comic book hero death. that's like the least permanent form of death in any entertainment medium, ever.

while we're on the subject of comics, i've been reading y: the last man. i'm sure many of you guys will already know about it, but i just wanted to reiterate that it's pretty damn fantastic. check it out if you haven't.

Well they're claiming it's permanent this time.

But then again, they said the same thing about Jason Todd.

Ordered the killing joke, year one, dark knight returns, arkham asylum, watchmen from flipkart. Never read any graphic novel before but really wanted to get into it since a long time.

Good choices. And since you're new, I would suggest reading titles from indie publishers as well, like Julia Wertz, Marjane Satrapi, Guy Delisle, Robert Kirkman (not so indie anymore :P) etc. Just don't get caught up only with DC/Marvel. They're just the tip of the iceberg. Go deep and you will find many other awesome titles like Blacksad, Underwater Welder, Kung-Fu Ninja etc.

Thnx a lot for the suggestions 😀 i love batman hence the choices😁i don't have a Landmark anywhere near me so what is the best place to buy good graphic novels? Hs18 is an alternative i guess. Don't really know much abt good book stores in noida and delhi. Will def chck out your suggestions the next time my wallet allows 😁

Well, FK and HS18 online. Landmark offline. Many a times I seen/scored some unbelievable deals offline in Landmark/Crossword as compared to the online ones.

The Last of the Innocents is amazing Fatman, Almost done with it. Loving the mature Archie comics/Noir mix, Anymore similar recommendations?

Well, that's the tough part. There's nothing really like it, hence the uniqueness. I would say go through the entire Criminal series (6 volumes; The Last of the Innocent is the 6th one) if possible. Ed Brubaker's other 2 ventures are also getting good reviews, Fatale and Incognito, but cannot give a personal verdict as haven't read them.

From what I've read, I would say go for Blacksad and The Underwater Welder. Both are absolute gems.
