That was an extreme case of a selfish woman. Maybe western wives dominate too much, i have no clue, but in my experience of looking at married cousons and friends, most Indian woman aren't that way and are fairly cooperative.

Things are changing pretty fast here as well.

Beg to disagree.

One of my close friends went through a massive ordeal. We have been family friends since...forever (true chaddi buddies). He married a girl of his parents' choice, and things were fine for a month or so. His parents are one of the most sweet and soft spoken beings I've met, very helpful, great people.

His wife started to verbally abuse them after about a month of marriage. Things escalated quickly, and she moved back to her parents' house, who filed a dowry charge on my friend and his parents. They were quickly jailed. Uncle had a HUGE social circle, and a lot of his friends came to rescue, and the whole family finally were out of jail after 4 gruelling days. The condition negotiated with his wife was both the newly weds would stay away from the guy's parents, and the parents would hand over a substantial chunk of their property in the girl's name.

It was, and still is a mess.

His parents went into depression. Uncle has neurological issues now, causing him to fall every now and then, and is unable to drive. Aunty was diabetic, and she suffered kidney failure, and has to undergo dialysis every 2 days. They're surviving on pension. Their kid hardly meets them anymore.

It's a shitshow, just because of marrying with someone who is extremely greedy.

It's not as uncommon as you think it is.

Really sad but extremely common story in India. They are lucky she didn't use dv act, 125, unnatural sex, rape case on father in law etc (might use it in future, that marriage is as broken as it gets, and overall hell for everyone) He should have just faught the case on merits instead of giving in to her demands. Also jailing people for 498a is illegal if 41A guidelines weren't followed. The IO should loose his job. So much mess can be avoided if right people can be contacted at right time. This is why it's said: Learn laws before vows.

More and more men need to realize this reality before marriage. Know what can happen if anything goes wrong. What is it at stake, what can they loose (especially if staying with parents). But they suffer from classic NAWALT fallacy and "it won't happen to me bro"

Second best way to counter such situations- pre nups. Extremely crucial and should be mandated by civil laws, specially in today's day and age.

(The best way is MGTOW. Nothing can come close to it)

Prenups aren't valid in India and in the countries where they are valid, they are regularly disregarded or thrown out by judges by using technicalities or if woman claims she was forced to sign it or the situation has changed drastically from when it was signed. Why do you think MGTOW is popular in west where prenups are valid and a norm?

There has to be some sort of an agreement before marriage. Though I agree the concept of marriage in the west is based on contracts and thus such agreements are legal, but such concepts should be brought in india as well. Specially as cases of false harassment are on an upward trajectory.

Guys the Sarvanayak series from Raj comics is one of the best ever, on par with dc marvel. There are so many parallel fascinating stories, so many characters making a comeback. It's just superb. The artwork is also fantastic (after first 2 issues) and various artists are featured in same issue for chapter title pages. Only issue is that it's still incomplete and will be completed only when Gupta brothers reach a compromise. Still amazing read. I have read first 7 parts. Those who know the overall raj comics lore will enjoy it a lot.

Cant find it anywhere.

<Rant>

Also, its been 1 month and my order at comichaveli is still not shipped :ranting: No response from customer care too. Such a buzz kill.

Balcharit series ordered from Buycomics around the same time, is shipped just a couple of days back and by then a new collection is listed which is Rs 225 cheaper :furious:

Ya lol RCMG came up with their own paperbacks. And the Agraj and maine mara Dhruv ko CEs aren't released still. I will order them when they are dispatched from publisher, probably expected at Monday next week. Meanwhile I already got maharavan CE (beautiful CE), Bankelal CE and Amar prem series is on the way.

Sarvanayak series I got from sell groups. It's not reprinted yet.

Questions:

1. How is Maharavan's story?(in case you have read it)

2. How many comics are there in sarvnayak series?

3. They still releasing new comics? I thought they are just doing the reprints.

Maharavan story is average. But it was epic during that time, and it's considered one of the best storylines of RC. If you like Hindu mythology then it's good.

Sarvanayak series has 13 in main storyline and 4 in Sarvanayak vistar series. Both series haven't been completed yet, final parts are stuck due to Gupta brother's dispute. But still are fun reads.

Yes, new comics are released since last year. They are comparatively costly.

RCMG releases:

Sarpsatra- Nagraj and Tausi (1st of 4 parts(

Fir aaya Bankelal- Bankelal

Musibat ka khel- Bankelal

Aazadi ki jwala- Dhruv (alternate universe set in pre independence India, sequel coming soon)

RCSG releases:

Aadi parv (Narak Nashak Nagraj, sequel to Narak Nashak utpatti series, part of Naag granth series)

Naag Pralay (Nagraj and Tausi, 2nd and final part coming soon)

Doshpoorna (Bhediya series)

Kachra peti (Doga, sequel coming soon)

RCSG is focusing more on future. All comics except naag granth are in DC/marvel size, though are costly.

My head is spinning just looking at these different series RC is launching.

Why not keep it straightforward like old times ?

Because both brothers have started their separate publications due to family feud. 3rd brother had announced in August that he will also reprint old comics at cheaper rates but then disappeared and is now butt of jokes by RC fans
