Farcry 3

Recommended Posts

The latest issue of PC Gamer reports that development on Far Cry 3 is well underway.

According to the mag's Spy column, work on the game is "in full swing now", although it packs little else on the game itself, it does say development is being handled by Ubisoft's Montreal studio, lead by former Relic Entertainment lead designer Josh Mosqueira, who did Company of Heroes.

This isn't the first time the game's been mentioned; Ubisoft scriptwriter Kevin Shortt told the Official PlayStation magazine way back in 2009 that Far Cry 3 "looks pretty exciting", seemingly confirming its existence.

And in 2008 narrative designer Patrick Redding mentioned that a sequel would likely retain an African setting:wallbash:, though he also mentioned Antarctica as a possibility.

Far Cry 2 had a lot of potential , but some annoying aspects of the game ruined it a bit.

I hope this is like what AC2 was to AC1 , and improvement over everything but still keeping the same formula.

I hope they axe the open world structure because the guys at Ubi that made FC2 certainly don't know how to make an entertaining sandbox game. It's a fkin pity because not only was the Duniya engine gorgeous, but it was pretty scalable as well.

All i wanted in FC2 was the Continuation to FC1....and what i got was boring, enemy respawning game...which was boring. So if its the same game, then FK U FC3

^^ Atleast the AC series is heading in the right direction , the last AC Brotherhood video posted on the thread looks awesome , horse riding within the city , map three times bigger than Florence , Multilayer , Hire Other Assassins , what not.

Yeah the AC series is the only one they seem to be doing anything good with. Almost everything else has been going downhill fast. Prince of persia, Splinter cell, Far cry, RSV etc all have had very disappointing sequels. Even the new Ghost recon looks pretty meh. These guys make Activision look great.

And of course there is the shitty DRM on the PC.

I really don't know what's up with that. I think they should have stuck with the scruffy hobo Fisher. Gameplay looked way more interesting back then.

Thank God I did not play Far Cry 2 :D

Add F.E.A.R. 2 to that list as well and you'll thank me down the line ;)

Apparently they didn't think enemies re-spawning every f**king 10seconds was a bit deal. I read it in some interview with the lead designer. Fkin stupid.

I read sometime back, how a UBI fanboy(in their forum) was justifying it by saying that the guards (or whatever) get diverted or hired quickly to replace the dead ones. The extent to which people go to make BS like this look good
