Just for the record before anyone else barges in without reading the OP and tries their hand at stand up comedy, this is the current controller with a play and charge kit that has been on sale for f**king forever -

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Play-Charge-Black-Controller/dp/B000P5FEJC -

And guess how much it costs? 65 USD.

The new one is exactly the same, still has the play and charge kit included and still costs 65 dollars. There is no increase or decrease. So FFS please try to read before you leap in all guns blazing.

I only use the 360's controller with the PC, I don't really see why they removed the colours on the buttons :( and they really shouldn't be forcing the bundle down someone's throat.

no real reason to buy a new controller.

As for the PS3's controller vs 360, I don't mind using either, but the 360's seems to fit easier in my hands, but the SixAxis motion sensing on the PS3's is wonderful. Otherwise I don't really have any gripes with either controller.

it just says that the controller will be available with the charging kit, i just asked if there would be a SKU without the kit, it nowhere mentioned in the OP.

Anyways im outta here.

The quick recharge kit is much more better than this,it takes a lot of time to recharge useing play and charge kit, also whats the point in playing the wireless controller in a wired fashion?

needless to mention the harrowing time i had with AC1 with my 2nd controller at charging point. I wasted more than 4 hours fighting my own clone :wallbash:

Its looks like a nice change. The Dpad was bad for the original controller, but i never played any games which required extensive use of Dpad.

Tom Clancy's games use the Dpad extensively.. specially GRAW to command the team and support vehicles..

why still have the plug and play kit, if they were designing a controller, why FFS they can't have an internal battery with normal USB charging, i so hate microsoft for this sh*t of Proprietary stuff...it downright sucks...

Oh please no. Spare me the internal battery. Unless you are gonna supply at least a 6-8 foot long charging cable with it. And a lifetime warranty of controller replacement if the battery goes dead.

I will take AA cells over that sh*t any day. Even if you dont like/want the PandC kit a rechargeable cell pack is still dirt cheap.

exactly, I very much liked the color scheme buttons, it was helpful in learning the combos of DOA 4 and another practical use for it was tht it was very easy for new gamers and kids, I just had to tell my sisters 5 year old kid to press different colors of the button while playing a game coz it was difficult for him to memorise the X,Y,A,B thing. MS should have kept tht the same way.

the amount of money i spend on batteries i can very well throw the controller out after 2+ yrs and get a new one...and as for charging cable i got a 10 ft USB cable for less then 200 bucks...as a matter of fact i have had a DS3 for almost over 2 yrs and it still gives me a battery life of 8+ hrs with full charge,,,,

Rechargeable cells are like 300 bucks. Keep a Duracell pair for swap while the regular pair charges if ever they run out midgame. Thats all you ever need. No wires needed 2 ft or 10 ft.

Plus you have options. And your whole controller doesnt go into the dustbin if the battery craps out.

While initially I did not think twice about the external battery, I faced a lot of issues with my wireless controller when the casing holding the batteries decided to come loose. The damned thing would keep slipping out of its place mid-way through the game, stopping me dead in my tracks. Got killed a couple of times in MP session while I battled with the stupid casing. From then on, I decided never to touch a wireless Xbox 360 controller until they did something about that.
