Instead of crips visuals, dynamic lighting and tons of great particle effects we got Vaseline all over the screen. *beep* you Fear 2. *beep* you very much. I completely agree with u.It was the worst sequel in many years. dante77 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 Resistance 2: not only did insomniac change ( read: dumbed down) the gameplay from R1, ythey also completely overhauled the visuals but with equally disappointing results. Gone was the gritty atmosphere and the muted color palette and instead we got generic fps shooter inspired look. it was also very inconsistent at places, water behaving like jello in MP but the biggest KLPD has to be the google map texture they used in one of the levels. Seriously insomniac WTF! THIS. And only a resistance fan can say this. I loved R1 but R2 was mega FAIL. Worst sequel this gen. Not only graphics but everything was FAIL. Joy Posted September 1, 2010 Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 If the comparison is to be done just on the basis of looks , then very few games will be listed , as graphics and tech is always evolving and 90% of sequels would look better than its predecessor. You gotta be kidding me , MSPR was awesome , I had great fun online playing with a few IVG guys like tif , Simmy and phaleous and even with firangis. It looked miles better than MS and had more variety in vehicles & track design/layout and crashes were great , sure some vehicles were twitchy handling like the buggy, but that's how its meant to be played , some vehicles were suited for some terrain while others for other, u had to choose the vehicle to your strengths.
