playstation Posted September 1, 2010 Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 hey guys, need help with the broadband connection from bsnl... i have linksys modem wrt54g2 Bsnl wala came he said i will need some spitters or what to get it working for this modem...also i will have to buy some box god know he said it is a round box in which some rj11 goes in and all. I am not quite sure abt it but can u guys confirm my wrt54g2 is not gonna work for bsnl . i will have to buy modem from bsnl then...asa hua toh phir toh lag gaya Rs 2k ka chuna. _KaRaN_ Posted September 1, 2010 Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 you dont need to buy another modem.. even i have that splitter thingy.. not sure whats rj11 n dat round box.. but i have dat box like thing as well.. but its square in shape, in case u wanna knw so the main line goes into that box, n a common cable is plugged in that box and that splitter .. my splitter is a rectangular small box with 3 ports reading Line, ADSL and Phone.. so that common cable in that square box is plugged in the "line" port of the splitter.. n another cable connecting ur modem will be plugged in that 'ADSL' port .. n d last 1 is d phone 1 which connects ur phone to the spliiter.. hope it helps <br><br>edit: btw i dont see that port in your modem.. r u sure its a modem n not just a router?<br><br><br><br><br><br>the very first port from left in this pic is the one im talking bout.. n i guess its not der in ur modem/router..<br><br>i guess its just a wireless router.. n in dat case, you'l have to buy a modem <br><br>n if ur buying a new 1.. dont get the one bsnl povides, der modems r crap <br> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
playstation Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 the small one is rj11 which goes into bsnl phone as well and rj45 is the bigger one and my modem can only take that there is no rj11 port so i think i will have to buy bsnl modem.
