Daedalus
Alright does anyone here listen to Jazz? I know Jazz is a very wide term and everything but what would you recommend if someone wants to get into the genre?
jDaMn
Alright does anyone here listen to Jazz? I know Jazz is a very wide term and everything but what would you recommend if someone wants to get into the genre?Miles Davis (Kind of Blue)John Coltrane Louis Armstrong Ray Charles Nina Simone* Kenny G* Michael Brecker* *=no first hand experience Kind of Blue is the one I suggest you start off with. Brecker has apparently played with a lot of big names though he is not very well known solo. Supposed to be excellent, though I can't find any of his stuff. jDaMn
Listening to the new PotF album. Its pretty great. Is that Poets of the Fall? I remember they had a song on Max Payne 1 (or 2?): 'Late Goodbye'... always wanted to hear a bit more. There was another band on Fahrenheit that was good. Sufyan
Ya there is a Jazz feel, but it isn't Jazz. As I was saying, check out the vocal tracks - Between the Lines and The Keeper. Brilliant stuffI've been listening to it for the last couple of days, and I'm quite surprised. Quite a comeback. His last few albums were complete trash. But this has some really good tracks. Gonna definitely pick it up. I love Cinderella Man (today's RSOTD), and the hook from Talkin to Myself is stuck in my head. Love it. But FFS, someone needs to tell Eminem to stop singing. It's unbearable. peace +1000 Recovery is way better than relapse.Thankfully he has dropped the weird accent he had in Relapse
sup bro?
Listen to Billie Holiday,Annete Hanshaw, the ink spots,Bessie smith and ruth etting (all artists ) Anyone heard of blackfield? and orgy? (both bands) Seconding Billie Holiday. Blackfield is great. Hell, anything which Steven Wilson touches is pure gold. Any fans of Cynic or Mahavishnu Orchestra here? Brilliant stuff Yeah, it aint Jazz... It is definitely Downtempo with a Jazz element in it... And it is splendid.. Between the lines is one of my favorite.. it never gets boring.... Betwwen the lines seems like a perfect soundtrack for Ocean's 11 IMO!! P.S- Check out Bonobo's live session videos... and it is available in HD... In-f**kin'-sane!!!
