IE9 Beta

So, I tried the IE9 Beta today and for the most part it held up what the website said in terms of offering me more options in the interface and even telling me that the browser was performing slow and then prompting me to disable add-ons to help me browse but its still not where it should be. Is anyone else here using it? If so, what are your opinions about it?

Things I found that I hated

It died on two Java heavy pages while FF4 just whizzed on those pages

It lagged on a flash heavy website which loaded after an eternity

Opening new windows seemed like IE was doing more than just load a new window

Things I liked

They have cleaned up the UI and offering more screen real-estate to play on, but so is every other browser

Add-Ons are a bit better

Download Management has gotten a lot more ... manageable

While I concur with that, its a beta built on a predecessor and I can agree with the UX heavy sites not loading quick but a window opening? That should be bread and butter for the boys at MS right?

^^^

Secondary browser to Firefox because it suffers with a break-line issue that I use when I get to CKEditor objects so unfortunately it takes a back-seat to any work that I do but its definitely in my top-two interchanges (Chrome + FF)

According to some web-design experts, IE kills itself every time it doesn't confirm to Web-Standards but .. that said, its also good that they don't because it creates a healthy competition among other browsers. that said, I like how they finally got their butts around to fixing a lot of CSS issues that plagued IE's predecessors.

Well its been running for a while now and its performing pretty well for when I first started it up. Doesn't show any progress indicator when I click on links in the forum then like magic it just loads the page hehe

Does it still take 2 seconds to open a new tab? That's the one reason I don't use IE8. Otherwise I think IE8 rocked. It's secure. And screw web standards - 90% of the websites are geared to IE. I always use IE8 for banking transactions.

This , I also use IE for banking transactions only , otherwise it has no use

That too cause I get error on FF that Java Script is disabled while online banking transfer even though its enabled in options. :P

I am late !!.. So wanted to start this thread as have been using IE Beta 9 since yday & it's a surprise for sure !!..

It's working much much better for me than Chrome & Opera (hate FF :P)..

Loads in a zippy, and by zippy, I mean a zippy !! :O

Even web page loading times have improved remarkably.. Did a web page loading comparison of Chrome, Opera & IEBeta9, and IE trumped both of them !! :O .. Did a 2nd comparison with Flash heavy sites and IE came at par with Chrome.. Of course Opera lagged ! :P

It's the best IE ever for me and I don't intend to go back to Chrome or Opera until I encounter any bugs.. :)

Of course I am missing my extensions from Chrome, but at least it aint hanging even with 25 tabs open !! :puspa:

Loving it !! :wOOtjumpy:

And Pinning, Jump Lists & Aero Snap work beautifully !!.. :D .. Hoping they will optimize it so that any site can support jump lists !! That would be so freaking awesome !! :punk:
