@ pbpoovannagamer Grass crest (upgraded to +10) is really nice idea for a STR build. Your weapon swings take a large amount of stamina. With the Grass crest shield and Cloranthy ring, you can recover stamina pretty quickly.

I'm running the exact same build in another playthrough. Pure strength, no magic whatsoever, Claymore +15, Grass Crest Shield + Cloranthy Ring.

I usually go with a Manserpent Greatsword with the same setup. Best STR weapon IMO. Fantastic scaling, good moveset and a quite faster than the Claymore.

But I dont really enjoy STR builds as much as I like DEX builds. The heaviness of the weapons, the slow roll, etc just doesnt work so well for me.

No problem dude.

BTW, Pinwheel... lol he dropped in TWO casts of Great Combustion! Those bonehweel skeletons before him gave me far more trouble. I'm glad that Pinwheel is such an easy boss. If he wasn't that entire section would have been frustrating as hell.

hey i got invaded for the first time ever :saberfite: in Anor londo where the first gorgoyle is after the lift, fight lasted almost 20 min untill my health and estus flask depleted. the guy must have been a noob like me lol. cause i managed to land 2 successful backstabs with my ultra great sword but he still lived. he threw pyro spells at me and some magic beam(kept dive rolling out of the way :giggle: ) that took away more than half my Hp :samui: in the end he won but my heart was rushing at 100 beats per min from the excitement.

some fog wall keeps appearing and disappearing at that place and "session failed" error keeps popping up. know anything about that ?? couldnt find the bonfire there, afraid of dying and restarting from sen's fortress lol

if i get killed by an invader i lose all souls and humanity and restart at last bonfire ?

That means someone was trying to invade you but the connection failed.

Also, dying from an invader is pretty much the same as dying from an enemy. You lose human form and have to recover your lost souls. I believe you also lose 1 Humanity against members of the Darkwraith Covenant.

Sanctuary Guardian defeated!!

This is the first tough fight i have had in this game after Orstein and Smough. Fast and smart boss, died a 6-8 times until i realized my shield can block most of his attacks. I dont know why i didn't think of it before, just not used to using shield in boss fights i guess.

And the Oolacile sanctuary area is breathtaking. All the stone statues bowing towards the center. Very beautiful.

Dude there is a bonfire in Anor Londo right at the start. Go exactly opposite to the lift (on the top) you take to fight the gargoyle where we were trying to co op yesterday. Stairs go down into a room with a bonfire and a NPC (DONT KILL HER).

No he just didnt find it.

Also invasions in that area dont happen in the area around the bonfire. They only happen after the lift. So the bonfire will always be fine anyway.

Invasions are scary the first few times you get invaded. Cause you think that people invading are super high level pros. Then after a few of them you realize most of them are just about the same skill level as you are. Some of them are downright clueless idiots trying to stand there and do an AOE spell. And the deciding factor is quite often lag rather than actual skill.

Even if an invasion happened around a bonfire..the bonfire itself won't work..so there is no point worrying about it..

I will start a new playthrough with a new char tomorrow (hopefully)..if anyone on the ps3 wants to co-op please let me know..you are not alone.

The invasion wont happen around that bonfire at all. All bonfires that are kept by a firekeeper are invader proof.

Bonfire areas without firekeeprs can be invaded (the one in Oolacile township, Anor Londo before OandS etc for example). Bonfire areas around fire keepers (Daughter of Chaos, Firelink, Anor Londo etc) cannot be invaded. You have to leave that area (however small the area may be) to be invaded. Then you get a fog wall between you and the firekeeper bonfire.

IIRC that was done so you dont accidentally make the firekeeper hostile/kill her while fighting the invader.

I was talking about bonfires in general not just that specific one. I also remember invading some people near that bonfire near the Darkmoon covenant. I used to join the Darkmoon Covenant and use the cracked red orbs(don't exactly remember the name) to invade.

Completed Painted world of Ariamis for the first time. What an amazing area! And I didn't even know that we cannot wrap to any other bonfire from there. Just examined the large painting in Anor Londo and it sucked me in. Is there any Illusory wall in that area? The items i got from there are dried finger, Bloodshield and Acid surge. I am sure i have missed a lot of items. And i chose not to fight the area boss and went back home. Can i go back and kill her?

I also invaded another world in that area. It was me vs two dudes. Managed to kill both of them like a boss, thanks to Lloyd's Talisman, +12 Pyromancy and the deadly +4 Lightning Uchigatana. This is the best weapon in the game IMO and it is much much better than both Chaos blade & +15 Uchi. Best thing about Uchi is that i can land 4-5 strikes in one go without overtaxing my stamina bar.

Yes you can go back to the Painted World (same as you did before). Also, you did miss a ton of items. There's plenty of stuff in that area. It's also one of the best areas for farming souls. The Phalanx in the courtyard area can be farmed very quickly for souls since it's so close to the bonfire. They're also very weak against fire.

Good job on the invaders, it's not easy to fight two at a time even if they're noobs. As for weapons, everyone has their own preference. Lightning weapons are definitely the best in terms of damage output but there are some bosses and enemies who are resistant to it (especially the final boss). Overall I almost always prefer a +15 weapon over elemental ones unless I'm going for an INT build. I also find most boss weapons to be weaker than upgraded ones or extremely situational in their use.
