Tyler
Great Combustion is probably the best Pyro spell This. I have pretty much steamrolled through bosses at SL1 (except the ones who are resistant to fire) with Great Combustion & an upgraded Pyro flame. Most of them died in about 4-5 casts. Pinwheel took just two lol.

Elessar
I got the Boss souls (moonlight and queelag), but not getting anything useful out of them. Since I'm going for a lightning Uchi build, putting all my soul levels into vitality and endurance (>25 both now), and hence any weapon with scaling of any kind is weak for me. This is viable for a first playthrough right ? I'll keep those boss souls for later if ever needed.. I've decided to use the Elite Armor set, Uchi and the Eagle shield for now. Working through Sen's fortress (lost 14k souls due to the damn traps because of carelessness
Aftrunner
Yes. Its a VERY viable build. Get VIT and END up to 30 ish. Spend the rest of your souls upgrading Pyro. You will destroy almost all bosses with that build. Hold on to Queelags soul. You can craft an amazing weapon out of it soon. It will compliment your lightning Uchi very nicely.
Tyler
Keep a backup weapon though. Some enemies in Anor Londo and the final boss are resistant to lightning.
(A)Kira
Played after a long time and got the uchi and the drake sword. Getting the drake was a bit tense. I already got the uchi and hit the tail a lot of times and nothing was happening. I only had 20 arrows left and couldn't buy any more either. Had to make each arrow count. Got it with 5 arrows left. It felt awesome.

Tyler
^^ Anyone with a pure magic build should have those stats. But you'd normally specialize in either INT or FAI.
Aftrunner
Why the hell would you want to use that sword? There are much better alternatives. Anyway invaded someone in Anor Londo yesterday. I am looking at this guy and he isnt at the bonfire. The silver knight behind the staircase is still there, so he probably went up the stairs. I go up the stairs and scope the area out. Nowhere to be found. Come back to the bonfire to check and see if he has returned. Nope. Silver knight is still standing there. But....... the silver knight is shorter than I remember. Turns out the guy is standing there in Silver Knight armor, with the Sliver Knight shield and the sword. In the EXACT same place where he killed the original knight. I am used to chameleon spell cloaking but that is some seriously ingenious sh*t. Mad props to the guy. Almost scared me for a moment when he started to move. meaNmachine
^^ OMG New way of trolling. I will try that trick as I use Silver Knight Set I remember the first time I was trolled in Catacombs. That time I had no idea about the chameleon spell. A guy invaded me when I was near the second bonfire. I searched the entire area for him but couldn't find him. I thought maybe he is using the 'Ring of Fog' and is waiting on the other side of the bridge. So I hit the switch and then started crossing, When i was exactly halfway through, the bastard flipped the bridge! btw how to get that chameleon spell? achilles
Hey, just a question. I'm about to get this game and want to confirm how the online works. I've never played any GFWL game online so I don't know what to expect. Or, if buy the game off Steam instead of a physical disc, will the online be via steam? ALPHA17
Or, if buy the game off Steam instead of a physical disc, will the online be via steam? If the game has a GFWL system nested then you will have to login into the same after you launch it via STEAM. At-least this is the case whenever I play Dawn of War II and its various expansions (retail disc versions). If the STEAM version removes the GFWL (which comes with retail disc) then you will not need to do anything save launch the game via STEAM and the online interaction will be handled by STEAM. Aftrunner
No its pretty much like DoW2. You have to log into GFWL regardless of whether you buy from Steam or get a physical disc.
achilles
Hmm. So, I need to add friends to yet another service? Jeez.
Elessar
I think I might be having some problems with GFWL. It was working perfectly until Saturday, then it was down on Sunday (as per their Live support site). Now I can sign in, but I get signed out after about 15 minutes in game, which quits my game. On signing in again, it seems to work fine. But I can see no messages on the floor Also, spent a lot of time in Anor Londo in human form but never got invaded (I wanted to try it out). I don't want to shut my antivirus down (Avast). Anything else I should try or is this normal ?
