The merchant you see before gaping dragon sells Gold pin resin which gives your weapon a lightning buff. Buy that. Try the boss fight a couple of times before you use it.

You can also summon Solaire (and Lautrec) for this fight but they are more or less useless and will only buff the bosses health. So might wanna solo it. Unless you are playing online and can find another person to summon.

The boss is easy but he has a LOT of health. The fight is a marathon, not a sprint.

If you want his tail, look to summon an online partner and set him to work, they are quite common. Also remember to kill the chancellor at the top of the area or he will snipe you during the fight. This dragon will spew a liquid that will break or damage your weapon, be wary of it. You should have bought a repairbox or else you will have a tough time.

Killed the Queelag and rung the second bell. Now I'm trying to decide between tackling the Hydra or heading to Sen's Fortress. Any suggestions?

Go for Sen's fortress, you would get some nice items there.

Hydra doesnt really offer much. Its a crappy bossfight that gives you a measly 5000 souls or something with a dragon scale. But the Darkroot garden area is worth exploring if you havent done so already. Some really great loot there.

Explore the Dark root Garden, do the moonlight butterfly fight if you havent already. Get the Elite Knight Set (AWESOME armor), wolfs ring (2nd best ring in the game IMO) and the grass crest shield.

killed the gaping dragon :D

now out side the just outside the queenlag's nest any suggestions before i traverse the white light ?

Try Gold Pine Resin. Again. :P

Its a really fun boss fight.

I'd suggest to tackle Great Hollow and Ash lake if you haven't finished those. You'll get some nice loot.

Try to read her attack patterns, one of her charged attacks is utterly brutal even if you try to block. Again for this fight, companions who will distract her are always useful.

You dont need to summon Solaire. Its very doable solo. Wear light armor so you can fast roll. Stay to the side of the Gargoyles rather than in front of them. Upgrade your weapon as much as you can before you fight them. You should be able to get a +5 weapon at least.

And AFAIK difficulty was toned down with the patches.

I am not able to defeat the bell gargoyle. I read on the net that we need to summon solaire. However, I don't have any humanity. What should I do?

Also, has the difficulty increased after the patch?

Kill some enemies in that area. In any area before killing the boss you can get humanity by repeatedly killing enemies. Boring process but that is one way of getting humanity.

Or buy it from the female Undead merchant. I think she can only sell you 3 or 4 per playthrough.

But ya as Afty said, you can solo that fight. Just upgrade your armor and weapons.

Are you a sorcerer, pyro guy or a miracle user? That is a pretty solid catalyst, but your intelligence is what really matters. How high is it?

intelligence is low only 12,just matches the requirement of the weapon so won't use it

by the way i have soul of moonlight butterfly, quelaag witch and core of iron golem with me

what can i do with these things except using them to get souls ?

You can make weapons out of them. Most of those weapons are pretty useless but the one you can make from Queelag is really great.

Once you get a later part in the game, if you have a +10 Scimitar or curved sword and the soul of Queelag you can make Queelags furysword. Its my current go to weapon for Mid level PvP.
