Aftrunner
Thats what a meaningful lack of people like Ank, Zodka etc does. Count your blessings.
(A)Kira
+1. This thread should a model for other Great pvp sessions today in darkroot garden. Also, couldnt defeat sif in a couple of tries.guess my end and vit are low. Did you roll or block his hits? Its better to roll in this battle as many of his attacks are two fold, the first will most definitely break your guard and the second will kill/ hurt you a lot. And try to get under him for some easy attacks when he jumps at you. Try to see the bosses patterns. For example, when he shifts the sword in his mouth, it means he'll do his spinning attack which should be rolled from and not blocked. I also found pyromancy to be very useful in this fight. Aftrunner
One thing you want for Sif is your best Stability shield. If you have a fully upgraded Silver Knight or Black Knight shield, that will help a ton. Low stability shields will just get your a*s murdered on the attack he does which hits twice. High stability shield lets you absorb his hits without guard break. This fight is all about managing your stamina. He is also pretty weak to fire if you have some pyro equipped. And as with all "big" bosses, the closer you are to him, the less likely you are to get hurt. Overall its not really a tough fight unless you run into him at low levels. If you finish that- You can free and summon baby Sif in the last fight of the DLC, and if you beat the boss and then come to the present to fight Sif, in the opening he'll knock you down sniff you, look really sad and very mournfully picks up the sword. aj21
Also want to know a few things. 1. Have claymore +5 . How to upgrade it further. 2. As much as i like playing with bks+2 and claymore, the movesets are a little on the slower side.does investing in strength have any effect on fluidity of these weapons and/or on their output damage? 3. Which is the best strength based sword?
Aftrunner
1 To upgrade a weapon past +5 you need the large ember. You get it at the start of the depths. Check youtube on where. 2 Almost all STR weapons are slow. Some slower than other but by and large all of them are slow. Its the only way to offset the ridiculous damage they do. If you wanted a faster moveset, should have rolled dexterity. 3 There is no "best" weapon, it all comes down to what moveset you like. If you are talking about scaling well, Manserpent greatsword has A scaling with STR IIRC. And you can enchant it. Its reach is a little shorter than some other STR weapons but the move set is decent. aj21
played today after a while cleared the depths...actually summoned a guy near the bonfire and then the area was just like a youtube walkthrough. he showed me all the loot, led me to every nook and corner. i didnt expect it but the area was good for summons and invasions..got invaded 4-5 times. entered blighttown and the environment looked so gloomy. hated the colour of the level. (A)Kira
Its one of the most depressing levels in the game. Couple that with terrible framerate there, constant threat of being poisoned, and those damn irritating flying bugs and this is one pissing off level. But you get some decent loot there, and the level after is one of my favorites.
MarketTantrik
Equipping the rusted iron ring is a must for Blighttown.
Aftrunner
Nah never really needed it. Poison damage is super slow. And you dont really need to engage in any serious combat in the swamp. Its nice if you have it but I have done about 30 different characters till now at least. Only had the ring once.
(A)Kira
Was attempting the four kings on NG+ and got a titinite slab from a darkwrait. I didn't even have the gold ring on or any humanity.

(A)Kira
Yup. I was considering starting a new character, kill the stray demon and transfer that slab to my main character with my friends help, but now I don't need to go to all that trouble.
