Ne0 Posted March 21, 2014 Report Share Posted March 21, 2014 BUMP, ok re-installed the game and started to play, guess what, the game requires freakin' GFWL support for going online .... and AFAIK, GFWL shut down last year and its booting me out of LIVE .... Â looks like the devs don't bother to update the game to remove GFWL requirement .... how much does one miss by not going online in this game ? Â Playing online does help and is fun but my very first playthrough of the game was completely offline (it was on the 360 and I had no XBL Gold). I still enjoyed the hell out of it. I always heard this game gives the best experience only online ! hey i just played Dark souls and GFWL is working (of course not counting the random "GFWL has disconnected" msgs) i played online saw a few bloodstains and watched a few player phantoms run by.....a new patch was realeased some few weeks back and GFWL automatically updated.  If u r having the problem of not able to connect itself and and not even able to go offline and unable to continue game etc etc (i had the same problem after patch update) all u need to do is reenter the email and password i.e. dont click "continue/login" when the login screen appears (with ur saved email id password)....remove the saved email id and password and re enter the values....hope this helps.  and also GFWL will shutdown in JULY 2014....its still operational till then..FROM Software are exploring options to continue DARK SOULS life post GFWL demise.  Its more fun online...300+ hours of playing it and its still not 1 bit boring  what time u play online ? i started a new character with Dex build lvl 15 i think near the bell Gargoyles now!  hope u added the DSC fix as well! I'm yet to begin my first playthrough, what class would you guys recommend, i usually go for warrior classes in RPG's .... or a mix of warrior + mage ! DSC fix helps invasion and coop much much much faster with friends. DS fix does a lot more. Tyler Posted March 21, 2014 Report Share Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Dsfix is basically a HUGE graphical improvement. Without it you will be locked to 720p and a blurry mess of a game. Just make sure you read the instructions and turn of the ingame AA. Â As for the starting class, pick Pyromancer. It's the best class for beginners. Also your starting class doesn't really lock you into a specific style of play. You can always spec to a knight in heavy armor if you wish later. Pyro starts with decent melee stats and some useful spells which will make the early encounters a lot easier. Tyler Posted March 22, 2014 Report Share Posted March 22, 2014 Yup Pyro + DEX is an awesome build. My very first build was a Pyro with an Ascended Pyro Glove and a maxed out Iaito. So much fun to play! Â Also I don't think I could have been able to do an SL1 run without picking Pyro. It was surprising how easy SL1 was with a maxed Pyro Glove and spells (Great Combustion FTW!). dante77 Posted April 3, 2014 Report Share Posted April 3, 2014 Guys, at the very start of the game where the giant eagle pick you up and drop you at bonfire, there is this steel armored guy who tells you about few things. Well I attacked him. Now, there is no way to get out. He is invincible. Tried killing him but no luck. He does get hurt but his health seems to be infinite. Can't run away from him either.
