dante77
I've cleared Tomb of the giants. Didn't I mention I have two souls? Anyway, is it just me or Tomb of the giants was much more scary than New Londo Ruins which tries to be one. I thought TOG was much more spooky. New Londo Ruins was very easy, it was after finishing the area I realized it had no bonfire. I ended up having 30+ transcient curse inmy inventory. It was actually the TOG which scares better, those lurking skeleton were much more scary than ghosts. In crystal cave btw Edit: Where is the DLC part? Tyler
Edit: Where is the DLC part? Accessing the DLC is quite cryptic. You need to go back to Darkroot Basin where the hydra was. There is a Crystal Golem there which must be defeated to free an NPC called Dusk of Oolacile. Talk to her and say YES to all options. When you go back to this area there will be a portal which takes you to the DLC area. (You must have already saved Dusk, in which case just go back to the area and the portal should be there). dante77
WTF!!! I think I f**ked up. Bad, very bad I already saved her. Bought the spells. There was nothing left to buy and I did say yes to everything but then Yeah, I killed her I swear I don't do that usually, she is only the third NPC I killed. So, is it a bye-bye to dlc? Will still check though because there is a sign to summon her. Perhaps it is still there.
Tyler
Not sure how killing her affects the DLC. She's an important part of the DLC but I think it should still be accessible. Check if the portal is there. PS: Don't kill merchants if they don't have anything left to buy. Some of them start stocking new items as you progress. Even more so in Dark Souls II as almost all merchants significantly expand their inventory in that game. dante77
Well, the last time I the merchant I killed gave me Uchigatana which is awesome (as someone here suggested) still playing with it. Played the whole game so far with it and upgraded it +15. Sencond was leutrek because he only gave me a medal for saving then laughing. So killed him. Dusk of Olacile, thought she is just another useless character. Also, Imminent fall in crystal cave

Also, Imminent fall in crystal cave Haha you did the best thing if you dont kill him he will kill firekeeper in firelink shrine and you wont be able to acces the bonafire in firelink shrine for some time. But you will get a black orb in the dead firekeeper's loot. With that black orb you can invade him before Orenstein boss room and kill him. That way you will get ring of faith and protection.. I think you can still access the dlc even if you kill her.. just go back to the place where you fought the golden golum you will find a black portal kind of thing.. But before going there you have to kill the blue golum staring at the painting in the dukes archives lowest floor to get a key or something Also Uchigatana is best weapon worth killing the undead merchant Edited April 17, 2014 by KyoyaHibari
Tyler
Killing Lautrec is okay because he's an a**hole, you saved yourself some trouble. As for the Uchi, you can still get it later but having it earlier certainly helps. Killing any NPCs will almost always give you some loot / humanity but it's not good in the long run, unless you've already done many playthroughs and you know exactly what you're getting into. I have played these games many times and I still never kill NPCs, except for Lautrec and Yurt in DeS, mainly to avoid problems later. On dex builds I sometimes kill the undead merchant for the Uchi. dante77
Whoa! Didn't know that. He was not a merchant and he was laughing, he was ungrateful and he knew that. So couldn't resist the urge. Thanks for the plot synopsis.

I also kill Patches. For nothing if not the sheer satisfaction.
Tyler
I actually like Patches. He's the ultimate troll. Also, he becomes a vendor later. But yeah killing him is kinda satisfying. BTW, found this on GAF... Edited April 18, 2014 by Tyler
dante77
So, who is your favourite boss guys? Mine is Ornstein and Smough when Ornstein first approached to me like a lightening, it was like playing a hacknslash Loved it <
KyoyaHibari
My favorite boss is also Orenstein and Artotias in dlc
Tyler
In terms of actual fight mechanics it's O&S and Knight Artorias from the DLC. For visual design, Gaping Dragon, Quelaag, Moonlight Butterfly and Nito. For lore reasons Gwynn and Sif. Yeah I like almost all bosses
dante77
You forgot Sif in terms of best wolf design And I didn't like Gaping dragon at all. I killed him with half of my health (cursed) without any NPC. He was quite boring, all you have to have to do is shoot arrows at him. Moonloght butterfly was visually very good but nothing great otherwise. Nito was great though.
Aftrunner
The Artorias boss fight is so goddamn good. No matter what build I have been rocking when I reached him, its always a amazingly fun fight. My favorite is taking him on with dual handed BKH. Tyler
Yep, he really tests your dodging, positioning and stamina management. Gives you very little time to attack. I've never faced him with a magic build though. I'm assuming it will be a lot more easier.
Aftrunner
I actually had a harder time with him using a magic build. He is so super aggressive and on you constantly that you barely get time to get a spell off. But you do pretty decent damage if you have crystal magics with you. I think he was easier with Pyro. Great combustion does solid damage and is a super fast cast.
