WhiteWolf
Oh no its comes with a DRM ....? Dark Souls PC Dev Responds To DRM Backlash Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition is incoming on PC, although the game's use of DRM security has led to an uproar among the PC gaming community. NowGamer quizzed Dark Souls PC developer From Software about the decision at a recent Namco Bandai showcase event. Publishing producer Daisuke Uchiyama exlained, "As for Games For Windows, that’s the established server that we used for the Xbox 360 version of the game. So that is the main reason we chose Games For Windows again. The partnership is still on going and we might have another announcement in regards to the platform." Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained the need to crack down on piracy, "We had the issue with the game selling in advance on consoles before the release date. We need to prevent that situation." Miyazaki also explained that Dark Souls on PC is in fact, a straight port of the console version, "As for improvements to graphics and such, they are not planned at this point. A we said, this is a straight port of the console version." Edited April 17, 2012 by Zodak™

Aftrunner
DRM doesnt mean always online. Steam is a DRM. Origin is a DRM. CD keys are a DRM. People are just pissed cause they dont like GFWL. Not because its bad as a DRM but just cause its bad as a Software. Shadoken
^^ What exactly makes it soo bad that people are boycotting the game O_o? ...
Aftrunner
Oh you know minor stuff. Like not installing, crashing, not launching, not downloading updates, not installing updates, corrupting save games, zero support from MS etc etc. Just regular stuff that means you cant play the game you bought. Worth it for the achievements though.

NitroNeo
Darn it so you guys find a safe spot , park your guy there & go do your activities if needed ? coz the game is super hard right & the soul currency is easy to lose if your guy dies
Aftrunner
Yeah pretty much, if you are leaving the controller you have to find a safe spot first. Its f**king retarded as hell. Cant believe the developers just assume that no one will have to answer the phone, answer the doorbell, take a dump or talk to anyone while playing the game. abhi90
^^ Or maybe they want you to even play while you're taking a dump
Big Boss
The PC port is GFWL, requires permanent internet, has no graphics options, minimal KB and mouse support, capped at 30 fps and there are rumors about max resolution being 720p. So, this is what happens when gamers force a Japanese Dev to create a PC port via petition.

Ummm none of that is confirmed except GFWL and Keyboard and mouse support being basic (which is still open to interpretation). And GFWL does NOT require you to be online at all times. And even if 30 FPS capping is true its still a MASSIVE upgrade once you have played it on the consoles. I am in Blighttown right now and the frame rate is sub 15 FPS at 95% of the times. At times I am damn sure it goes to single digits. It borderline unplayable. Whats laughable is that the game is actually below average looking, isnt really doing anything special visually and they still cant get it to run properly.
