R a g h u Posted August 28, 2012 Report Share Posted August 28, 2012 Question. I have been invaded 2 times but i think those were npc invasions. One was in undead church and the other in depths. How do you get invaded by real players? And I suppose its the same way for invading people. You can only get invaded by real players and npcs only if you are in human form and that area boss isnt dead. You can invade others depending on the covenant you are in. Some covenants allow you to invade while you are in hollow form..some needs you to be in human form..the same way for co op..the sunbro guy who gives you the white soap stone after taurus demon allow you to help other players even while iyou are in hollow form..for the guy who summons help should be in human form. So, the game balances out..if you need help, you should risk being a human and be ready to get invaded too. There is a level restriction to certain types of invasions too. Super fast shipping and good packing. Woot, can start playing immediately. Unfortunately, it is the normal DVD version in some stupid plastic DVD case. nameless Posted August 30, 2012 Report Share Posted August 30, 2012 lol...the game is definitely worth 1499 (Got it for 1300 on nextworld though). Anyhoo applied one of the fixes (couple of dll files i think) and the graphics is on par or marginally better than the console version. After applying the fix, was able to change the resolution and thats about it (Disabled AA as recommended). There are no other settings in this game. But the game is fun as it always was. On my way to ring the first bell (finding using the xbox controller a little wierd after playing on PS3 for a longtime). As usual kicking a*s using my upgraded uchighatana. Its a shame its not the special edition but I wasnt really expecting it to be honest. Still works out cheaper than Steam anyway and the game is well worth the price. pbpoovannagamer Posted August 31, 2012 Report Share Posted August 31, 2012 took me 45 min to learn the control keys !! i am finding it difficult to pull off the special moves!! there are messages on how to perform kick,parry riposte etc but i cant figure out what keys on my KB to press!! looks like i need to pull out my old gamepad!! with the resolution fix game looks much better (whew) runs at 30 fps in the opening area. pbpoovannagamer Posted August 31, 2012 Report Share Posted August 31, 2012 here are some screens with the resolution fix!! but it looks like i cant see object far away they appear blurred!! gonna check the dark souls forums and see if i can do something about that and maybe just maybe i might try to force AA through amd catalyst is this how it looks for u guys!!? the objects faaaaaar away are all blurred!! are the mountains supposed to look like that? hope someone makes a lighting mod!! can u guys see those walls and stuff objects far off when u play?? (install game normally without steam first then activate the game on steam) You need to copy the files into the install folder BEFORE clicking Install in Steam. Surefire way to do it: 1) Select Install and it will start the download. 2) After a couple of mb or so pause the download and then select 'Delete Local Content' in your game library. This should leave you the correct directory in steamapps\common. 3) Copy the files across. The installed game files from the retail version go in 'steamapps\common\Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition\DATA'. The GFWL and DirectX folders from the retail DVD go into 'steamapps\common\Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition\REDIST'. 4) Select Install in Steam. It will then do an extra step in the install which says something like 'Discovering Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition existing files'. After that it might download a few mb, and will do the usual 'First Time setup' stuff when you run it the first time. 5) Verify Game Cache just to make sure. Now you should be good to go.
