Aftrunner
Yeah you can do the Dark root garden now or come back to it later. Some decent pieces of loot in there including a really good Heavy armor set (Stone Armor) but you need to buy the crest from the blacksmith in Undead parish to get in the short way, the other way in is kinda long and tough. I would say do Sen's fortress first, that will give you enough large titanite shards to get your weapon up to +10 which is an absolute necessity. Then you can always come back to Darkroot garden. Anyway, I tried cutting Seath's tail. Went through like 15 Estus, 5 humanity and the f**ker still died before I got the Moonlight sword. pbpoovannagamer
will divine weapons be of any use to a strength build character ? i have a claymore +10 and a zweihander +5. is turning the zweihander +5 into a divine weapon a good idea?? now i have gotten strong enough to wipe the floor with the BLACK KNIGHTS when i started the game i used to bolt the moment a black knight charges at me lol
Aftrunner
Not much point in Divine weapons TBH. Even with a decent amount of points in faith Divine weapons barely do any serious kind of damage. The only place where you absolutely need a Divine weapon is the Catcombs. So you could turn it into Divine and just keep it for that one area. Or you can turn that +5 Zwei into a +10 Zwei and then turn it to a lightning Zwie when you get to Anor Londo. Tyler
Don't waste the Zwei by turning it into Divine. As Afty suggested it's better to take it the Lightning Route. Just get another weapon, preferably a hammer/club of some sort and make it divine just for the Catacombs. A divine weapon will make Catacombs much easier but it's not mandatory. You objective should be to take Claymore to +15. A Claymore +15 is absolutely devastating. @Afty, Yeah, getting Seath's tail is probably the most frustrating thing besides facing the Anor Londo archers for the first time. I really wanted the Moonlight Greatsword for my INT build but I never managed to get it. Anyway, continuing my SL1 run... defeated Moonlight Butterfly and farmed the forest hunters for a bit. Took the Pyro Flame to +7 and Reinforced Club to +8. Guess I'll go for the Gaping Dragon next. Also got rid of Lautrec... better sooner than later. Ne0
re-installed the game yesterday , to my utter disappointment, it BSOD's at the intro video Strange coz I had played around 30 mins last time ! And there are hardly any video options to tune or play with to fix the problem .... anybody here face such issues ? I'm running the game on 5850, Win8
Tyler
Check with bulovski... Pretty sure he was facing the same issue. Also I'm using the same card. No issues. 60 fps with downsampling using dsfix.
Aftrunner
Man put enough points in VIT you can pretty much tank the toughest bosses. I just beat Artorias with no strategy, barely any dodging or shielding. All I needed was 40 VIT, Havel's armor and 20 Estus. Just stood there and spammed Pyro like a crazy mofo. Burn, baby burn. Disco inferno. Edited February 14, 2013 by Aftrunner
Tyler
VIT/END + Pyro is pretty much easy mode really.

Tyler
In-game AA messes with dsfix. Remember... - Shield up - Lock On - Treat every enemy with respect
Aftrunner
Jeebus wept. Messing around with a non INT build and wouldnt you know it, the Channeler in the Depths drops his trident. In like 300 hours I have spent with the game, this is the second one I have ever gotten. I even tried farming for it at one time with no luck. Its like the game f**ks with you on purpose. meaNmachine
Time to do the Channeler dance! That dance is really funny. Can we perform that dance with the weapon? Jeebus wept. I killed him in Undead Parish and Depths. My humanity count was 4 so 150+ item discovery. But still didn't get it Edited February 15, 2013 by meaNmachine
pbpoovannagamer
how far into sen's fortress do i have to venture to get to the next bonfire ? i kept going and going, amassed quite a bit of souls and then i fell off one of the walkways and now i have to start over again from undead parish! is the bonfire in a hard to find place??
Aftrunner
The ones in Duke's Archives respawn. But farming there is a bitch, cause of the ladders and the fact that the Channelers tend to teleport once you get close to them. Plus the item drop rate for that Trident is really low. I tried for a while with 10 humanity and the Gold serpent ring (max item discovery) and I still didnt get it. I think its one of the (if no THE) rarest weapon drops in the game. About up there with getting Titanite slabs from enemies. @ pbpoovannagamer The bonfire is on top of Sens fortress. In (yet another) dick move by the developers, its hidden really well. You have to drop off the side to get to it. Check a youtube video or something. Cause you will need that bonfire. You dont wanna die at the boss and start from the bottom. Also remember to get the cage key to unlock a shortcut (again, youtube it). That will help a LOT. Aftrunner
Hmm, now in Anor Londo and sitting on 70,000 souls with nothing to spend them on. Dont wanna level up above 40 cause I am making this one a co op/PVP build. :/ That dance is really funny. Can we perform that dance with the weapon? Yeah you can perform that dance. Its REALLY useful if you have summoned someone, as the person you have summoned gets a buff in his attacks (and their health as well probably). So that Trident is really great for people who like to do co op. Just do the dance once before going up against the boss and your co op partner will absolutely WRECK the boss. I did it once before Artorias some time ago and the guy I summoned was taking out like 20% health of the boss in each hit. The dance takes away weapon durability though. You can do it 2-3 times before the weapon breaks so you have to repair it quite often. Plus it does great damage too. With about 35ish INT, fully upgraded it does like 430 damage. Which is fantastic. Shame is, this time I dont have any points in INT. I cant even wield the damn thing. What an absolute waste.
Tyler
Buy crafting equipment with the spare souls. Better to invest in something than losing them I suppose. I must say I'm really enjoying SL1 so far. I am actually dying a lot less compared to fully decked out builds. The real test will be Four Kings and O&S though. Aftrunner
Yeah I might as well buy Twinkling Titanite with it. I can always drop them for people I invade/co op with. Once I do Orenstien and Smough I am gonna get another 60k or so. Use it or lose it.
meaNmachine
Is there any special item/skill that changes the way you roll? Last night i was playing with a guy who was flipping instead of the normal rolling. The rolling animation was different and it was quite fast. So anyone knows which item/skill is required to perform that flip instead of roll? Edited February 16, 2013 by meaNmachine
Nikushimi
Is there any special item/skill that changes the way you roll? Last night i was playing with a guy who was flipping instead of the normal rolling. The rolling animation was different and it was quite fast. So anyone knows which item/skill is required to perform that flip instead of roll? You need the Dark Wood Grain Ring. Shiva's body guard drops it. It will change your fast roll to a fancy flip, but it does nothing for medium/fat roll.
