There are many useful loot like Grass crest shield (this shield boosts stamina regeneration), Knight's set armor, Havel's ring. When you fight Hydra, make sure you don't go too far into the lake or you will plunge to your death, the water is deep around the center. Now if you want to go there you'll have to go all the way back down + go through Sen's again. It's up to you really, Darkroot has some great items and an optional mini-boss. Plus a semi-important NPC who sells some nice items (including a handy light spell that's very useful for Tomb of the Giants). But you can always go to Anor Londo and come back once you get the Lordvessel. I'd say just push through Anor Londo and get the Lordvessel if you want to avoid going through Sen's Fortress again. Then again it's not really hard if you're familiar with the place. It can be done in a few minutes tops. What gear are you using btw? Nikushimi Posted February 17, 2013 Report Share Posted February 17, 2013 The Hydra is actually pretty easy if you can get to the basin without getting blasted into kingdom come with those water jets. This fight is all about positioning. Get near enough so that he starts bashing you with his heads, don't get too close and fall into the trench though. Equip the Rusted Iron ring and any shield with 100% physical resistance. Just block his strikes and hack away at his heads, they have really low HP and can be cut in a single blow if you have decent sword. Rinse and repeat. Also sort of a hint, might wanna get some poison arrows (about 50) before you get to Anor Londo. Oh man, Anor Londo. Prepare for pain. This is seriously easy mode But ya i found pyromancy useless in PvP. I am putting points on END/VIT this time instead of a high DEX build. is anyone still playing on the PS3?? pbpoovannagamer Posted February 19, 2013 Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 ok i found the culprit causing the GFWL disconnections.. it was my Avast antivirus . switched it off and i played an hour of Dark Souls in Sen's fortress without getting disconnected, so if anyone else is having " GFWL disconnects while playing Dark Souls ON PC" try switching off the anti virus at your own risk. works for me now for some JOLLY COOPERATION Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Don't worry you will get better once you level up and have better gear, everyone struggles in the beginning. You can level up at any bonfire once you reach Firelink Shrine. That is the next area after Undead Asylum. Remember blocking is very important in this game. First learn to deflect enemy attack by blocking and then strike immediately when the enemy is in staggered state. Then you should learn 'Parry n Riposte' and 'Backstab' to get bonus critical damage. Tyler Posted February 19, 2013 Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) I would say try backstabs and ripostes once you start getting comfortable with the combat. For now just focus on blocking and attack when you see an opening. Those hollow soldiers are intimidating at first but will soon become cannon fodder. Are you locking on while engaging the enemy? If not, do it. Locking on is an integral part of the combat. That way you will always remain oriented to the enemy and be able to block effectively. If all else fails fireball that sucker.
