abhi90
django you were great in the last match, two saves @Avi: thanks for that, actually i wanted to play as a cm yesterday and played 2 matches as midfielder, but i dont know how to switch styles on the fly so it'sk like if you choose a style you can't change until you go to the edit pro screen and then change your vp, and by then the match would start. Man In The Box
@Avi: Mujhe nahi pata tha ki FIFA 11 clubs khelne ke liye itna padhaai karna padega........... Lol man, what I am saying is simply because I want to help. As a CDM, I thought our defense wasn't that great before but after Angy, Beatemup and Abhinit have come in we seem to have got good people at the back. But it's sad that even if we work very hard, we do concede goals and that is just because of the fact that their VPs are not originally defenders. And if you go to Edit Pro and just change your pro to a defender, you will realise how much of a change there is in the attributes. I mean ask Rad/ Mrinal to play in forward positions as a defender and even they will struggle big time. So VP's role does matter a lot with respect to his position on the pitch. @ Abhinit : Yeah, you cannot change your pro's speciality in between the matches and you do have to go to the 'Edit Pro' section. Also, @Django's comparisons. I was like when he posted this in the FIFA chatroom !
dabba
Here what I think.... Our team play is only concentrated on the wings, which sucks. Our strikers ask for only lobbed through balls, which again, sucks. Each game its lobbed through ball or running on the wings and crossing. IMO we should VARIATE between wing and center play. FFS cut back in sometimes, instead of running on the flank and crossing! And we need to have composure on the ball.... as soon as we get the ball we either go solo, clear the ball or try to play a lobbed through ball we play to our teams strengths.... when i am striker put crosses n lobbed balls since my pro is good at headers... cutting back in n trying to go thru the middle almost always fails.... coz the opposition packs in the middle ground.... the only time i have seen anything move thru the middle is when it is a thru/lobbed thru ball... i agree that @ times ppl get carried away with the lobbed thru ball... eg: a defender trying to lob from the last 1/3rd rather than the half-line... also at times when a ground thru bal wud make more sense that a lobbed thru ball (for those who can't tell.... thru ball is better when there is a decent gap of 3-4 strides between our player n a defender... if both r running together.. a lobbed thru ball makes more sense) this is just plain football sense... n while i acknowledge that at times it gets hectic n ppl can make a mistake... certain things just cant be compensated for... ie. lack of football knowledge I scored 4 goals today dabba that's nice... did the team win the match/matches in which u scored these goals?? Last match mast tha.... both the teams wearing blue kit and sab as to kisko pass karna hai... how many times do i have to mention in chat abt jersey colour??? really simple... first guy on the squad list screen has the option to select the kit.... do the $%^#%^&%&$%&$^&$^ kit selection properly

Okay, the lobbed ball part doesn't make sense. Even if your striker is good at headers, lobbed balls are supposed to be landing in front of you and not something that you will be controlling with your head because if you are doing that, then it's actually not a lobbed pass and is just a an aerial ball which you will have to head over to another partner. A lobbed pass is something which goes over the defenders and lands in front of you so that you can have a 1v1 with the keeper. Heading ability only matters when someone is crossing the ball to you from the wings. But I do agree that we were cutting in to the middle many times yesterday and loosing the ball that way. Wing play is something we have been good at and although we do over-do the lobbed passes, it's not something we have to remove from our game completely because they are our best chances to get goals. dabba
avi... i do not proof read what i type... so give a lil space... u knw what i mean.... lobbed balls coz the striker has the speed n strength to go past a last man.... crosses for the strong headers... if u guys insist on me breaking it down... if i am a target man the headers is around 89-92 i think if i select a finisher, my finishing skill is at 96 n headers around 85..... i have scored a lot of goals from headers... if u guys still think the lobbed balls n crosses dont work then there is nothing i can do to help u... (avi not directed @ u since u have already said t works urself) django it was not aimed 2 u bro... it was in general coz i hav been saying it every day in chat n if ppl still start a match with the same colour kit then... Django_3101
Dabs, I think people want to say that lobbed passes and cross not always work. We must concentrate on the ground passes also. Looking at the way the opponents had been playing for the past 2 days... I noticed that, there is always a backing for every player where the ground passes are very easy. For us, first of all every player tries to run on every corner of the ground without maintaining their position and also, when any of our forward players gets a ball, he is always tackling the opponents alone with no one around him to pass the ball. So, there is no other option but to lob or cross... I think what we have to learn first is to try to stick to our positions.... Well, I am just a beginner, this is what I observed during my 2 days play... dabs, regarding the kit selection.. its all cool, I didn't take it seriously
abhi90
Well me a footie noob, but as soon as we get the ball forward we sort of just sprint, i think some build up would be good.
dabba
I think what we have to learn first is to try to stick to our positions.... everyone says this... here n in chat... but recently no-one seems to be interested in following it.... biggest joke it was yesterday... where 6-7 player are all running behind the ball.... leaving the opposite flank empty... opponent crossses... easy goal... ha i played pro ranked match some days back with some random firangs... that was better than some of the matches we have been playing but then even there u get samples who want to play n score goals even though they are defenders n mid players n forwards are standing n waiting in front of them... twiddling their thumbs n what is wrong with everyone.... when the GK is AI... defenders do not %^#%^% press X/O... coz u are calling for the ball n the goalie will pass it to u... u who is surrounded by 3 opposition players... lose the ball... n then concede a simple goal...... if ya'll are new to this it is forgiven.... do not repeat the mistake... thsoe who knw it n stil do it... dharmin
@avi:i agree that defending would be a bit easier if i take my pro as a cb but the thing is i cant play each and every match as a defender...its gets boring after a point...so if u guys could give some time between matches to change the pro say from cb to st then i dont mind taking my pro as a cb...i can play well in attack too its just that everytime i had a chance to be a midfielder for some reason i never get the ball...just give me a chance to attack and u wont regret but i dont mind defending too... What I am saying is that just because your VP is a CB does not mean you cannot be in midfield. I mean you are playing as CB when your VP as CM. So why can't you play CM when your VP is CB ? You are in the midfield maybe 2 times in 10 games and you can play in midfield even if your player is a CB. I have even scored once as CDM although my striking ability sucks
