And cutting in dosent necessarily mean you have to put a through ball to the strikers.... you can also pass to the other midfielders. Even if we do put ground through balls, theyll be more effective from the center. For example if the winger passes the ball center and the CM gives a through ball to the striker (all in one move), it will be more effective and more importantly it will be less predictable than only wing play. rad2689 Posted October 12, 2010 Report Share Posted October 12, 2010 ^^i agree omar, yesterday i was playing as a striker in one match n i don't remember if it was django or mrinal but he passed me the ball from the wing when i was behind the defence in the centre while the whole opp defence was running back to mark the other striker n midfielders n it left a lot of space for me in the middle just outside the D. so it does surprise if done from tym to tym n stop just crossing from wings or lobbing from the back. it will add a lot more variety. I mean seriously guys we can't expect to win a 11 v 11 match with 10 ppl playing as midfielders ! We need people at the back too whose VPs are specialised. I think BeatEmUp, Angy and Abhinit are really good at defending and if they become specialised defenders then together with Avi as CDM .. our back will get stronger.. as i said attacking is not the only part what matters in the game,defending plays 50% too.. scuderiaT1fos1 Posted October 12, 2010 Report Share Posted October 12, 2010 One thing i really hate is that short passes are so extinct in our games..a simple press of the X button and the job is done, but some ppl take the risky route and lob the ball even when the reciever is crowded by defenders and this is how we lose possession most of the time. Il change my VP to RCB now. Will play in that position only for a few games atleast. Btw i got red carded yesterday , wanted to cross the ball and while i was powering up my kick i was dispossessed and my VP performed a sliding tackle. Well Said. Defending is as important as attacking because there is no point scoring if we also let in 2-4 goals per match. Il change my VP to RCB now. Felt sad for Polash because he had to play as any . But thanks dude for playing that way so that the others could have a good game. Last match when Rad was defending was like Btw guys, 4-1-2-1-2 is a decent formation but here are some other formations I have thought of ... Formation 1 : -------------GK---------------- RB----------CB-----------LB --------RDM---------LDM------ --RM -----------CM------------LM- ------------ LS---------RS-------- This will really help solidify the midfield and prevent through passes by the opposition. Our midfield will remain mostly the same and with 2 CDMs, 1 can be a ball winner and 1 can be a passer. Formation 2 : -------------------GK-------------------- RWB----RB -- CB- --- LCB --- LWB ---------------CDM------------------------ --RW----------CM---------------------LW -----------------CF------------------------ These will not really be helpful in defending through balls but oppositions will have a tough job breaking through our defence. We will still be concentrating on wing play which is our strength and the lone striker can get through balls via the CDM. Here I would expect the RWB and LWB to push up as well. Also, I believe that in the current formation ... when the RB and LB are making runs up front then the RCB and LCB should take up their positions and CDM should become the CB to prevent oppositions from getting a lot of open spaces. I dont mean it in a bad way at all, its just that personally I thought it was more for fun rather than hardcore competition (now dont tell me playin hardcore is also fun, for I know it is, but noobs like me playin for fun means making loads of mistakes due to lack of game knowledge )..but its gettin way too serious for me! I dont watch much football and fifa10 was my first fifa game ever and i didnt play it that much, so am not as well versed about 'Football' as most of you guys are ! I think we should have another club for noobs like me, while you pros can play for the ivg club as it will be great to see Indian club pissing all over the firangs ! I think we had fun yesterday because we won some matches for a change . Angy, you play decent man. Also, common accept it ... even you don't like losing every match. And we are all pretty chilled out. I just put that formation list as it would help us. In the chat room and during game, we are all having a good time. Nobody is discussing so much about all this over there. It's just that this thread is a good place to analyse how we performed the previous day and that is what most of us like me, Dabba, Rad and OMR have been doing. Lol...thats bec i dont play 1v1 much...so the reputation of being a noob is hidden ! Also, common accept it ... even you don't like losing every match. I know...even i dont like losing, but i dont mind it re! And as i said, i didnt say wht i did in a negative way at all....its just that you guys have indepth knowledge abt football, so its obvious that you should play and analyse the way you do....its just tht for some (minority) people like me who dont know much...it gets way too serious! Maybe next year we can be at the same level of knowledge ...but currently it seems more like work than enjoyment to me! Noobs like me prefers a game where, say, I can be a goalie and run towards the halfline to tackle the ball, and all have a good laugh abt it rather than get cursed in the thread or on mic . But this is obviously not the way to play with you guys as you all are pros and try to play to the best of your abilities all the time, so if someone like me indulges in a stunt like this, it wont be fair to you guys !
