So my recommendation did work and you did read the book ha beech, good going

Yeah actually if you read the book and then go to watch the movie, its sheer disappointment, the fact is that these guys could have made enemy at the gates a huge hit if only they could have a better cast, i mean seriously jude law ki mKc apart frm that, they dont establish the whole development in his skills that zaietsev has and the fact tht he ran a sniper academy as well in WWII, they shld have concentrated on tht, the director basically like full on idiot concentrated on the duel and even that wasnt as awesome as the one in the book, anyways :harhar:

I like Jude law....

Long time reader, occasional news feeder. Writing from rainy old London, England. Surprised that no one has commented on this, lucky me I guess. Was lucky enough to attend a key note speech at the London school of performing Arts university and was honoured to be in the same room as Keanu Reeves who was the guest of honour. Keanu was here promoting his new movie Henry's Crime which is opening shortly.

keanu as always was his kind gentle self and spoke to the class for a good 45 mins about his big break in acting and his love for Shakespeare. the floor was then opened for Q&A and the following was note worthy;

- Says he's prepping a action movie around the world of the samurai and that it will be a hard "R" rated 3D action feast that will deliver some great martial art set pieces. he's into 2 months of a 6 month training programme.

- Spoke briefly about the possibility of Bill and Ted part 3 - ( Audience started laughing) but he assured us he's committed to the project.

this is where the fun begins. Some great info shared with us good people.....

- Says he met the Wachowski's (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro's and con's of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title "The Matrix" and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionise the action genre like the first movie. Wachowski's are working on a movie called "Cloud Atlas" at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again.

- Keanu spoke about the need to encourage writers to continue to focus on working on new ideas and that a good script was worth its weight in gold. For example he said the Wachowski's had just sold the most expensive script in history to Warner Brothers. a modern futuristic take on the legend of "Robin Hood". Says he understands WB paid $5 million for the rights and that from what the wachowski's have told him, it will be an action movie that would have the same impact visually and technically that Terminator 2 had. Confirmed that Will Smith has agreed to headline the picture.

Yea and people call Dhobi Ghat art.

No story ? wtf !!

If anything the story was the best part about the movie.

Yeah its a real eye opener <_<

Can't believe I called you Smartchap once.. :eyebrow:

Dude, Guzarish is a good movie..there is a story, there are performances and though it's not a masala bollywood entertainer it touches you.

What part touches you ? :nerves: ?

What performances are you talking about ? Hritik playing jesus/magician of the zomg decade ? The acting really doesnt live up to the calibre these actors have, BELIEVE

with the kind of movies he's making now a days SLB is surely gonna give RGV competition. WTF is the point of Guzaarish?. somebody tell SLB, lavish sets, moody lighting =! good film.

dude, don't compare him to RGV. 'Rakta Charitra' is awesome :good:

Books-- Helmet for my pillow,With the old breed , War of the Rats ( the first two are written by Veterans ) and war of the rats is based on true facts and the author writes it as if he was right there, anyways this aint the book thread so wont go into much details :fear:

Movies -ahh not alot of good movies are based on WW II which is kinda sad given the fact that it was a WORLD WAR ,seriously i mean the directors make movies on dragons, talkin frogs and sh*t but still dont venture out to create WW epicness, not alot of ww movies come up to my mind though , just a few like, Enemy at the gates ( its kinda disappointing if you read "war of the rats" ) inglorious basterds ,valkyrie then their were a few mid budget films directed by a director that showcased the killings that took place and the way the soldiers survived during the war, it ws a neat movie, dont remember the name, been a effing long time, apart frm that the only mini series that comes to my mind is The pacific and Band of brothers, but I guess that you must have seen them :threatenlumber:

yo thanks :hi:

i like ww2's lore (ww2 buff ^_^) but somehow havent gone into the fiction of it. Its all been history books and biographies.

2010 Razzie Award Nominations Revealed!

Ah, the Razzies. As the preeminent deflator of celebrity ego-balloons, they're only perhaps matched by OK!'s decision to run makeup-less photos of every female star they can get their hands on (the photos, not the stars). That said, they're also something of a Hollywood institution, having been running for almost 30 years now, and celebrate the worst artistic achievements of the Hollywood system for the year. Traditionally, their nominations are announced a day before the Oscar nominations come down, and their awards ceremony is likewise scheduled for a day before the Oscar telecast. Since Oscar noms are due tomorrow morning, today the list of Razzie nominations were released.

As you might imagine, The Last Airbender leads the way with nine nominations, a number that's shared by Twilight: Eclipse, perhaps a bit unfairly (it's bad, sure, but nowhere near as awful as some other movies released this year, and I'm not sure how you can nominate it for Worst Picture over something like, say, Jonah Hex or Resident Evil: Afterlife). Curiously absent are films like Furry Vengeance and Grown Ups, but again, these awards are generally aimed at the biggest targets out there. Click the link for the full nominations!
