Nononono !! You got me wrong there.

I believe that SRK is really among the few who can actually do well in these kinda movies. It's just that he's not in his true form for the past year or so. MNIK's success went to hos head :|

He looks too slim for this :P

cut the crap, going sucker punch tomorrow :wOOtjumpy: OT: why is wave site (lko) not showing SP timings? Had to check today's paper for timing :|

Not saying it hasn't been done before but really it looks like an extension of Krissh, which is a BS movie to begin with. I don't have anything against bad VFX, but Hrithik doing super jumps spoiled the whole movie for me. Seriously that was the most ridiculous part of the movie when he was jumping buildings & cars :|

If anybody in the bolly industry has the knack of taking chances and doing something diff, SRK is one of them. But lately he has been overacting a lot. I mean A LOT, be it a movie or as a host. Somehow he seems to have lost his touch :(

Srk was always an overreacting actor ....from the very beginning ....though earlier he was new and it looked fresh but then it just went on and it still is same way....not saying shah rukh khan is a bad actor no he is not...i have seen swades and i can see what a class actor he is...but thats it...In every movie i have seen f his...i always felt i am watching shah rukh khan and not the character....whereas see aamir khan...see lagan you do feel bhuvan hai....sarfrosh....you do feel ek CBI officer Ajay Rathore hai...Rangeela mein you do feel ek sadak chap bandha hai....where as shah rukh ,....never felt like that...watch kabhi kushi kabhi gum...and you know it is shah rukh we all know...just saying he can but he does not act in the shoes of the character ....he infact makes the character wear shah rukh shoes....it has worked for million of fans coz of his charming personaility ...more power to him....but that is why his movies are not memorable...not many atleast...whereas...aamir khan's...aaj bhi rangeela dekho majha ajata hai...arey mithun ka disco dancer dekho....anil kapoor ka ram lakhan dekho....tezaab dekho....

RNBDJ was good. But MNIK was yuuuuuckk !! It's such a f**king stereotypical overacting nonsensical cliched crap that I feel pukish at it's name :|

Seriously the best among these kinda genre movies is Black. f**king amazing acting. Just acting like a mentally challenged person doesn't make you a good actor :|

Personally felt Guzaarish to be better than MNIK.

It comes naturally to SRK :giggle:

I can understand people saying SRK overacts and i agree to an extent, but i dont think anyone can pull some of the roles he performed.

no point in comparing SRK to AK, its like copmaring rajini and kamal hassan, different actors different styles. Some make movies for the masses, some for the critics.

Also, lol at everyone defending RA.one, you don't need big budget to make a good sci fi movie, watch - 'the man from earth' , sci fi movie made on a shoestring budget. Watch 'moon', another classic low budget sci fi movie. Script is the reason why these movies are likeable, which where bolly fails. I'm sure RA.one or G.one will fall in love with a dame, sing songs with her, have some emo scenes and what not to mess it up completely. Take krisshhh for ex, the movie had like 20 mins of sfx and some 2.5 hours of emo nonsense.

Swades, RNBDJ, OSO, Chak De India, Don, Darr come to mind. He certainly is a talented actor. Just needs to get his sh*t together !

I can take 3 hours of emo nonsense given somebody who can act. But Hrithik :wallbash: Seriously the way he acted in Krissshh ! :|

Which f**king superhero jumps long distances splitting legs like a f**king ballerina ! :wallbash:

SRk may have acted well but major problem was with the movie ...it was a sensitive subject ....they made it too over the top in many scenes ...should have kept it simple ....

In that case u will never be able to compare anyone with anyone...we all come with different style and thinking...Shah rukh has been successful to sell himself as a person...people love him for the way he is...whereas Aamir khan has made people love his movies and his acting and take note of that .

See I'm no fan of SRK but I'll watch this movie on the big screen on day 1, simply because I want see more such movies being made. Is it wrong that I want our desi superheroes flying in our skies, aliens destroying indian cities, isro sending a space mission etc etc?? Krrish, love story 2050, robot might not be great films, but they have done more for indian cinema than say dabbang, 3 idiots, *insert random yashraj/kjo movie*

dude, have you lost it ? Comparing love story 2050 with 3 idiots :ko: ? And movies like love story 2050 does nothing for bollywood. Like I said before, there's no need to go all guns blazing spending upwards of 100 crores only ending up making sub-par SFX, instead spend half the energy on a good sci-fi script, get out of the comfort/risk free zone and attempt something different (remove those pesky unwanted comedians, gut wrenching melodrama, cliched dialogues, song/dance routines etc), that will be something different and nice to watch.

@playstation, comparing two actors with completely diff styles has no use. Is there a point comparing Arnie or sly stallone to Richard Gere or dustin hoffman ? If you want to compare, compare SRK with Sallu or Akshay, they make movies of similar kind. Guys like AK or Kamal hassan are in a diff league altogether (although, AK does try pulling stunts like ghajini once in a while :P)

Regarding Ra.One, I am just posting my post here to prevent OP in News Zone:

Did you guys see the way he just flied in the air without any effort? There was no force at all. I mean he is superhero alright, but there should atleast be a visible difference when he jumps 10 feet and when he jumps 100 feet.

And the flipping to the top? What is the point? Just doing the idiotic flips to the top when he can wall run vertically much faster? Or just jump directly like at 0:07?

My problem with Indian superhero movies is that even after hiring the foreign action directors, the stunts look too childish and retarded even thought they are well executed.

Remember the Krish? The way he takes down three bikes by hitting them like cue balls on a pool table? That was retarded.

And the way he rebounds the tree branches to hit the ninjas? (And why the f**k were those ninjas yielding swords appointed as guards at the island when 20 more el-cheapo guards with AK-47 would have blown Krish away?)

The overall treatment of the superpowers in that movie was pathetic, I mean why the f**k did he run in air while jumping? Was he moving his legs vigorously to increase his reach? If yes, how f**king retarded is it?

Back from SUCKER PUNCH...

It was pretty much everything what the trailer promised to be. Yes the plot isn't it's one of strengths but then there aren't really too many ways you can have undead Nazis, orcs, robots, demonic samurai and dragons in the same movie. The action was great and the OST was pure win (including covers of Manson's "Sweet Dreams" and The Pixies' "Where's my Mind?" among others). Also I liked how the fantasy sequences played out like video game levels... there's a briefing, then a fight against some grunts, some OTT QTE sequence-like stuff and a boss fight to finish it off. My only complaint is that the bunny-faced mech didn't get a lot of screen time and the ending felt weak. Overall a very enjoyable flick which I'll definitely watch again.

I'm sure the movie is get a lot of hate from uptight critics and audiences but it is exactly what Zack Snyder wanted it to be. It's an action-packed visual rollercoaster ride. And it delivers.
