Mamooty is one of the best actors in Indian cinema though. I dont watch Malayalam cinema, but from what Ive seen of him in Tamil and what Ive read about him, in Malayalam, the guy is a total legend.

As for the Kamal Rajni debate. Kamal is clearly the better actor, but people tend to think Rajni isnt a great actor, which unbelievably wrong.

Judging Rajni as an actor in the last 20 years, you really havent seen his acting prowess. It was before the mid 80s when he really shone as an actor. His older roles are so brilliantly played out. Amazing characters, with some super stunning and stylish acting. Id say ok in a heartbeat if Rajni returned playing a villain again, like he used to. Infact, I remember in the earliest days of Kamal and Rajnis careers(Kamal is a child actor though, I mean since his adolescent days), they acted in a handful of movies together, and Rajni always outshone Kamal as an actor, despite being the villain or anti-hero or the supporting actor in most of those movies.

I must say, having been brought up in Tamil Nadu, I have been extremely lucky to have witnessed some of the greatest actors the country has produced. The finest. Sivaji Ganesan, MG Ramachandran, Gemini Ganesan, Kamal Haasan, Rajnikanth. These are actors who can never be emulated, ever again. When Rajni and Kamal call it a day, a golden era would clearly have come to an end. There is not 1 actor in the current crop who can match up to them( I thought Vikram would do it, but clearly he has fallen off the rails with his 1 movie every 2 years philosophy).

I would also like to point that Amitabh Bacchan, despite being a very good actor, is one of the most overrated actors of all time.

Well i still seriously think Mohanlal(Not anymore),Mammooty,Kama Hassan >> Any actor in india. and also Malayalam movies >> Any other indian movies. Dont know if its because i know the language more or not but they seriously produce some awesome oscar materials,Sad that they aint getting the recongnistion they need. :( In many movies,The acting will be absolutely fappable. Even if they dont pour out big budgets they still make fine awesome movies.

Back from SUCKER PUNCH...

It was pretty much everything what the trailer promised to be. Yes the plot isn't it's one of strengths but then there aren't really too many ways you can have undead Nazis, orcs, robots, demonic samurai and dragons in the same movie. The action was great and the OST was pure win (including covers of Manson's "Sweet Dreams" and The Pixies' "Where's my Mind?" among others). Also I liked how the fantasy sequences played out like video game levels... there's a briefing, then a fight against some grunts, some OTT QTE sequence-like stuff and a boss fight to finish it off. My only complaint is that the bunny-faced mech didn't get a lot of screen time and the ending felt weak. Overall a very enjoyable flick which I'll definitely watch again.

I'm sure the movie is get a lot of hate from uptight critics and audiences but it is exactly what Zack Snyder wanted it to be. It's an action-packed visual rollercoaster ride. And it delivers.

Safe to go with Dad ? Pliss say yes ! :samui:

It's got nothing to do with watching it in the theater. The movie is PG-13 and as far as I could tell there wasn't even a second cut by our censor board.

The uncut DVD/blu-ray will most likely contain some additional violence but not outright nudity.

If you have seen the very first theatrical trailer, then notice how Snyder has left out the Dance sequences. I guess the Director's cut edition would definitely include all that footage. The stuff that we got with a U/A rating, was up to mark, with what we had seen in the Trailers. I think other countries were no different.

Anyways about Sucker Punch.....

When I saw the trailer my first impression about it was- it looks cheap...I mean it has a ZS quality to it but it didnt look good enough....especially the casting felt so wrong....... :(

Yup, it's pretty tame. There are some scantily clad girls and most of the movie is set in a high-class brothel (and there is a lot of dialog around that).

Yeah I noticed those scenes were missing.

Yup. It's definitely a "love it or hate it" affair. And I'm in the love it camp. Watching it again tonight! Surprisingly my wife loved it a lot and she wants to watch it again. I guess the reviewer is right when he says that on the surface it looks like a male geek fantasy but on serious inspection the movie really seems to be geared more towards the female demographic.
