beb0p Posted May 22, 2011 Report Share Posted May 22, 2011 Saw Kung Fu Panda 2 at a closed premiere last night at Urvashi. Simple story but the relentless action sequences more than made up for it. The character of Po takes the centrestage again as he tries to figure out his past. Really loved Jack Black's comic timing and the animation, cinematography and effects were just top notch. If you are in Bangalore try to watch it at Urvashi theatre which I feel is the best place to watch a movie in 3d here. The active shutter glasses were pretty good and there was hardly any strobing although the movie looked a little darker than it actually was. Cheers! But the best part was the mermaid chick in the movie- Astrid Berges Frisby.Damn she is so beautiful!Words cannot describe her beauty! I just felt like going inside the screen and with her! Johnny Depp was great as usual and there were a few really lol-worthy lines. The 3D was ok, not used to its full potential and made the movie quite dark (and most of it was set in dark areas) but overall better than the post-converted ones like Thor. I also felt that the budget was significantly lower than the last two movies. Most of the action took place in indoor sets and there wasn't a single ship battle this time around. PS: There is a short scene after the credits where... Angelica finds the Jack Sparrow voodoo doll while stranded on the island. Tyler Posted May 23, 2011 Report Share Posted May 23, 2011 BTW also watched LIMITLESS this weekend. Good concept and slick direction. Bradley Cooper was great in the leading role. However I felt that there were a few holes in the plot. Normally I can look past things like that but not in a movie that sells itself as being a "smart" thriller.
