Aftrunner
@anksam: Fargo is GOLD. Anything by the Coens is a sure-fire must watch; my absolute favorite being Miller's Crossing. Sigh. yea, next leeching the big lebowski The Big lebowski is excellent. Except for the silly dream sequence. It also has one of my favourate lines in films. DUDE Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing-- One of the best delivered lines ever! The dude abides! Edit : Argh silly formatting. nithin
^^^ Kubrick is brilliant. I can't even pick a favorite. Barry Lyndon, The Shining, Dr. Strangelove, 2001, they're all good @spystranger: David Lynch is very on-off. For example, twin peaks is to die for but something like blue velvet does almost nothing for me. yup, but somehow the best i liked was full metal jacket, and second best clockwork orange, the ending was superbb!! and yeah nt to forget 2001 and spartacus!! damm he was awsomee The drill Sgt in the boot camp part of Full Metal Jacket was simply awesome... What a vocabulary! Also i thought Shining was damn good... one of the better horror movies... (a lot better than the overhyped exorcist) Eyes wide shut was pbbly the only really bad movie he made... and apparently tat was something he admitted once the movie was ready. BS.I thot the shining's success is just credit to jack nicholson's brilliant portrayal.if u have ever seen the exorcist alone at midnight in ur home.u'd know what the hype was all about. I was re watching Se7en a week or so back when a friend pointed out that the police captain in it was the same guy who played the drill Sargent in FMJ, he is pretty good in se7en too (although a real short role). And I always thought it was The shining which was overrated. Exorcist actually scared me, Shining never did. The book (the Shining) on the other hand is the scariest thing I ever read. That bit in the playground where Danny finds out someone else is in with him. Or the bathtub bit. Holy crapping sh*t!!

Boring! Midnight morning or evening.. i always found exorcist to be average at best... Nicholson was obviously the highlight of Shining... but the atmosphere of sheer isolation in the hotel that kubrick creates is just brilliant...
