saw:

Due Date

The Hangover

Role Models

Inception

all were great, but WTF was inception, that ending :| anybody care to explain? ofc. in spoilers if need be....

so what i can tell, is that

Cobb never woke up from the dream, yes? coz the top didn't fell, atleast not till the camera got cut away(or say movie ended)

but the movie was awesome man :majesty:

The ending depends on your perception. I've seen forums raging war over it !

wtf, lol!

but really, going purely by how the movie ends(that is the last we see in the actual movie before camera goes out), is that the top didn't fall, so it's still a dream yeah? or is there a alternate ending to it?(i guess not)

The top is falling.. watch it again, at least it is going to. In the dream, the top is spinning straight at all times with no wobble at all.

A fantastic movie though... the first watch in the theatre was amazing!

That ending is a big *beep* you from Nolan.

it's the same with almost every other movie of his except for batman series.

prestige and memento too have a lot of different theories on what exactly has happened and how they've ended.

that's the best thing about his movies. they let you think for a looong time even after watching the movie.

You think Inception ending is f**ked up? Go and watch Revolver. No one here dared to explain me that movie. A bunch of trolls suggested me that movie and then vanished everytime I brought that movie up.

ok, my interpretation of the Ending

As somebody pointed out earlier, in dreams the speed of the spinner is constant, in the last scene it is varying, like real life. In Fact, Nolan said that there is not supposed to be this perfect ending of a dream or a real life, he said that the important point was that De'Caprio was not looking at the spinner any more, he did not care about the truth, he was happy in whatever it was, that is all that mattered.

But it was a good movie none the less, though I was not totally amazed by It, I think as a concept I still rate The Matrix over it, and as a movie by Nolan I rate The Prestige over anything else.

I agree, The Prestige >> any other Nolan movie. It's almost perfect. Then again it's based on a book so Nolan doesn't get all the credit for it's twisting plot. But he did an amazing job at adapting it. The whole movie is a giant magic trick.

Also, The Matrix > Inception. I love Inception too but The Matrix is more watchable. The middle portion of Inception (before the proper "heist" begins) is tediously slow on repeated viewings.
