Bulovski Posted November 5, 2011 Report Share Posted November 5, 2011 I went for Ra.One last night. So just to set context - I am a huge SRK fan. I thought MNIK was very good and Duplicate is one of his best films - that's how big a fan I am. My wife's also a huge fan. She went for Ra.One in the evening - came back and started shaking her head. My spidey sense started tingling. I reached the theatre around 10:30 pm for a 10:50 show. Two other screens in the same hall were showing Ra.One and they came out while I was sitting. I have never seen such a grimmer crowd. I was scared. The show started. Trailer of Tintin was shown. This was the high point of the entire outing. The next 30 minutes were the low point - of Bollywood. Not just the movie, or the evening, or of all movies in the year. It's cringeworthy and moronic. Again - to set context - my popcorn was knocked over by a hyperactive kid and that was still not the low point. What on earth was SRK thinking? What was the censor board thinking? Apart from the vulgar jokes, there are definitely scenes which cannot be shown in 'U' the Chinese guy's mom's death and the eyeball I think enough has been said about the plotholes. Tyler is correct. You can play around with the laws of physics but at least give some explanation - even if it is as generic as 'The Force'. I think there was a story at the beginning of the project which made sense. However, it just got lost in the making in the hands of a weak director who probably wanted to please everyone else, and a star who focused on the marketing the product than the product itself.
