shekdown
^^ IMO the 6th one is the worst. They removed all the cool mystery elements and focused more on the "snogging" parts. But the last 20 minutes or so were almost perfect. Almost exactly as I imagined them while reading the book. The last movie is much better and definitely has the best pacing of all Potter movies. It's pretty much non-stop action. Prisoner Of Azkaban is still the best of the lot though. The mystery parts didnt really matter if you'd read the books, though. You knew what was coming, anyway. The 6th ended really well and built up quite well, also. The 7th 2nd part started off quite well. I enjoyed the Gringotts scene and then I felt it really dropped from there. I disagree, I thought the pacing was slow. It could have been much better. There were definitely a few scenes which were rushed and there were few others which went slow, but overall, there were lot of pre-action scenes which were slowed down to give an epic feel to the battle, which I didnt really get. Tyler
I was disappointed by the battle too. It's was much more epic in the book. Every creature, almost every character (even the kitchen elves!) came out to fight. And all we got in the movie was a few quick scenes. The movie focused more on what the trio was upto and not so much on the rest of the characters, which is kind of understandable because the movies never really built up any of the secondary characters well. The scene just before the siege where the teachers and the Order members start putting up the defenses was pretty cool though - especially the score. Very emotional stuff, but sadly the actual battle scenes didn't match that. I also wish Snape's story was expanded upon more. It was just a series of quick flashes. It definitely deserved at least a 20 minute flashback with proper dialog and scenes. I hope someday someone will remake the Potter series the way it was meant to. Now that we know the entire story it will be much easier to adapt properly... like LOTR.

Tyler
I agree...Snape part was the most disappointing...Such an integral character but not enough time given... Also Fred Weasley dying offscreen :| And it's made worse by the fact that of all secondary characters the Weasley twins got considerable amount of screen time in the movies. And that part with Neville pulling out the Gryffindor sword wasn't handled well either. I seriously wonder why they changed that. The books get a lot better from the third onwards. The tone becomes more mature and interesting new plot developments start to happen. Up until then it's kids' stuff. dylanjosh
In my opinion - DH1 was the worst. Was thoroughly bored and ending was unsatisfactory. DH2 was a completel contrast. I enjoyed every bit of it. Really good visuals too. The dragon looked amazing, and the scene where they cover Hogwarts with the shield wowed me. The first book and first half of the second seemed to match well with the respective movies, but I guess the detail and content were massively cut down just because of the lack of screening time in movies. IMO, they should re-make it as a series, it would have a much better appeal to the audience, and have the time to reproduce the intricate detail as well. Then again, the budget has to be considerably high for a series Edited November 7, 2011 by devil_angel

That was my favourite part of the ENTIRE series. It, in one single stroke, tied up so many loose ends across the books. And it was beautifully written in the books. Was terribly disappointed with what they did.
Bird Bird Bird
Definitely. Just came back from the screening. The movie is pleasantly surprising and pretty well done. Even though the 2nd half is a notch below the 1st half, it still packs enough punches. The crowd actually clapped twice in the 2nd half (the million years stolen scene and when Timberlake beats the other bully guy). Cool concept, cleverly executed. Must watch at least once. My only gripe: super less time for Olivia Wilde. Yeah that got cheers from the audience here too. Pretty cool scene I must say. BTW don't you think the setting of the movie should be called "Milf-verse" Edited November 7, 2011 by Tyler

Tyler
I actually found it better than Source Code. I found Source Code better. There are too many plot holes and inconsistencies in In Time but overall it's a decent watch. The director's previous efforts - Gattaca and Lord Of War - are better.
