I was so damn scared with people all around me saying that all the f**king time that I ditched my plans to get a blue Anakin Skywalker lightsaber and went for a red Darth Vader one from A New Hope instead. I really do like the lightsaber duels from the new ones more though.

Red lightsabre of Darth Vader -> win. Pale blue of Luke Skywalker -> Win. Anakin Skywalker -> Fail.

Agreed. I thought the duels were great in the new trilogy. But there were waaaay too many duels which kinda made the epic feeling of lightsabres lost. Like in the old trilogy, people couldnt wait for the lightsabre to come out. And it wasnt just that. The lightsabre battles in the old trilogy had emotion to it.

New Hope - Obi Wan vs Darth Vader - Master vs Apprentice. You dont know what exactly happened but there was a sense of emotion to that battle.

Empire - Luke vs Darth Vader Mark I - Luke wants revenge for the death of Obi Wan yet there is something more to the battle. Yoda's teaching being left mid-way to go for this. Will Luke join the dark side? What did Darth Vader have in store for him.

Return - Luke vs Darth Vader Mark II - Father vs Son. Need I say more. Redemption from the dark side.

The lightsabre battle in the Episode 3 was the only emotional one in the first 3 films, I thought. Though it was slightly, marginally, longer than it should have been, I found it to be enjoyable still.

Oh and speaking of Star Wars, picked up the OT on blu-ray the other day! :punk:/cue Star Wars fanfare

Now there is a super purchase B)

It's funnier if you've actually seen the movie. But watching the movie just to be able to enjoy a webcomic more is asking too much.

Also, MT after all you've read about it here you still watched it? Couldn't you have just waited till the weekend and watched Tintin if you really wanted to go to the movies?

Why only OT.. Why not the entire box set of 6 movies?

I don't care much for the PT. The only watchable movie out of those is RoTS and I have it on DVD (and am quite happy with that). Besides the complete set is almost 3K extra. I got it from LM. Flipkart has some pretty sweet deals on them though...

i have read it a number of times and just ROFL every time on the part where they take the game mechanics/design apart

if he can't kill you without the gun then you're gonna reach the third level in any case

yes

so no matter what anybody does it will boil down to a one bullet shootout EVERYTIME .... ALWAYS

yes

Saw Tintin 3D.

Firstly, the movie doesn't need 3D, but having said that, this is the 1st ever 3D movie I've seen which is free of subdued brightness & contrast which are normally present in all 3D movies. Also was quite excited seeing Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost have lent their voices.

But I still don't get the hype around Tintin. The movie did have its moments, though I don't picture myself wanting to see it again. Some of the sequences are awesome, like the eagle chase. Captain Haddock is easily the best character of the movie !

The CGI is so believable that you'll forget you're seeing animated characters 10 mins into the movie.

Finally, I suggest you pick up a late night show to avoid wailing babies in the theatres. :|

I was hoping the 3D in Tintin would be great. Will surely watch it though.

It is, specially in a couple of chase/escape sequences. Plus seeing the movie in 3D with proper brightness and contrast is a treat in itself.

Waiting for Immortals now.
