Solitaire Posted January 6, 2012 Report Share Posted January 6, 2012 Guy Ritchie Sherlock amazing movie..The action was very good... One of the best movies last year... Couple of movies I saw in the last two weeks: SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS... Hated it! It had its moments but overall I hated it. I loved the first one... I mean really really loved it. It had a good mix of mystery, humour and action. But this time it seems they completely forgot about the mystery and most of the humour came off as lame. I love Guy Ritchie but he screwed up (not his first time though) on this one. The plot was filled with holes and there was barely any real detective work... do you really think Moriarty didn't check his diary even once between the switch and the finale? Plus how was Holmes so sure that his hands wouldn't be tied during the torture? It felt like watching a Pirates Of The Caribbean movie. The only good thing was the action scenes. The train and forest sequence were great and were the only highlights of the movie. Watched Game of Shadows last week. I didn't like it much either. It was one of the very few movies in recent times that nearly put me to sleep. The plot was so predictable and there was no sense of mystery in it anywhere past the middle of the flick. RDJ seems to have done his part and so too some of the other actors but the pace of the movie is so damn slow with the exception of the action scenes and again when the 'mystery' is kinda revealed early on then there's nothing to keep you awake through the somewhat glacial pace of the movie. Watched MI Ghost Protocol two days later. Anil Kapoor has done his best to play a sex-starved monkey with no dignity, he deserves to be kneecapped for some of those supposed pickup lines. It was good enough for an action flick. Kept me awake the whole time and was paced pretty well. Tom Cruise had that same expression (he seems to have put on a little weight and wears tight jeans/pants throughout though ) on his face all through the movie lol. They really should have prepared better on the Indian section of the movie though - Kannada signs in Mumbai and a car park filled with left-hand drive cars here in India? I guess they used Bangalore and Vancouver for the actual shooting. Still they tried to show India in a better light rather than show off a chase scene through the slums or something hehe. You'll find the difference. Your Bollywood ventures end up like cold cuts - stylishly done - are so different from piping hot goulash.
