Ram Dante
Jack Nicholson is a better joker imo. Watched this yesterday, Amadeus - 10/10 Brilliant all the way! Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce were outstanding! I didn't have much idea about western classical music and operas and Amadeus Mozart, but now I ve started to listen to man y of his works after watching the movie, such impact! Stevie G
Jack Nicholson is a better joker imo. He was excellent, his character was more in tone with the comic book series while Heath Ledger went for the realistically deranged criminal genius who just wants to see the world burn . I still prefer Heath Ledgers portrayal
Big Boss
Yeah, Nicholson's Joker and overall the earlier Batman movies were more comics based whereas Nolan's movies and characters are as close to reality as possible.

I still prefer Heath Ledgers portrayal Different people different preferences Heath ledger as joker was more like the joker from The Killing Joke. But the best of all is Mark Hamill's portrayal in the Animated Series/anim movies.

dylanjosh
In Nolan we trust Nolan never disappoints Until he does and all hell breaks lose. I'm a big Nolan fan. He's my fav director but I'm not going to act like he's gods gift to humanity. For christ sakes all I'm saying don't overhype this to the point where you'll come out disappointed no matter how good the movie is. I'm not saying stop posting updates. By all means, post whatever you want here. I'm just advising you not to expect the movie is going to be like the second coming of Christ. Tyler
Yeah, Nicholson's Joker and overall the earlier Batman movies were more comics based whereas Nolan's movies and characters are as close to reality as possible. I disagree, Burton's Batman was further away from the comic books than Nolan's. Here are a few examples... - The Joker kills Batman's parents. In the end Wayne tries to get revenge. That's completely against the Batman mythos. Something which was handled perfectly by Goyer/Nolan in Batman Begins. - The Joker is given an origin story. Again this never happened in the comics and goes against the Joker's characterization. - Pretty sure Batman kills a few of Joker's goons in Batman '89. He uses the Batmobile to drop grenades right at the goons' feet and then we see a huge fiery explosion. - The Penguin is some sort of a hideous mutant who lives in sewers. Completely unlike the comic book version. - Catwoman's origins. Overall Batman and Batman Returns were Tim Burton's take on Batman. Sure they had some cool visuals and sets but they didn't work as 'Batman' movies. Nolan take is far more faithful even if it tries to remain grounded in reality. dylanjosh
Isn't Joker's origin story in The Killing Joke widely accepted as the proper one? I'm pretty sure that graphic novel is cannon considering its the one where Barbara gets shot
