That's because u haven't seen any of his earlier movies from this director.I will say this again...no offence to any one.... but for me he is the best director in India right now.

Point is, that video does not complement your comment. Also, I can't understand tamil. How do I know he is the best then, unless you give a proper reasoning.

Okay bro....sorry let me rephrase that comment, this directors movies are intense, hard-hitting and dramatic which is real cinema good filmaking .There are no good scripts, themes, screenplay here in Hindi movies as compared to other regional movies....and one of them is this....much better than the crap that are offered now with top stars here.

If u have seen Tere naam(salman )its the remake of this directors original (sethu)which was absolutely brilliant.

You mean that girl, yeah she ruimed it. An average movie with terrible female lead character. Hates her commentary in the movie

That Mexican villain was badass. A hotter female lead and better ending would have made the movie a hit.

Benicio Del Toro, yes. I picked up this movie mainly because of the strong cast.

Some Japanese Anime movies I know and like are

GITS (Ghost in the Shell)

Akira

Both are sci-fi and pretty awesome!

Bala is an amazing director.

But the best Indian film I have ever seen is the film called Aaranya Kaandam. It came out in 2011 and what a bloody film it was. Same level as Lock Stock or Snatch. Dark mystery thriller laced through and through with superb black comedy. The way different stories mesh together seamlessly is just amazing.

Its very strange this. The movie has won rave reviews globally, and a handful of awards as well. However, there has been no DVDs, VCDs, downloable formats anywhere. Its become this cult-film that cant be acquired and is now unwatchable, if you had missed its original run in the theatre screens.

I've seen two movies of Bala, both dubbed in telugu (as I can understand telugu better than tamil) - that tere naam original one and that other movie about orphans / graveyards and all that .... forgot the name ....

I found both of them to be .... well i dont know how to put it, made for the awards kinda movie. Depressing plot and characters .... and both end as tragedies. Not saying he's a bad director, but looks like he makes only depressing cinema .... its not for everyone.

Completely agreed with your views on Bala. Hes a great director, but his movies are not for me either. Felt quite empty at the end of Sethu. They're very hard hitting.

And its not a version of Infernal Affairs. Not link to the story at all. I didnt know there was an Infernal Affairs movie in the first place. Now Im curious :D
