Heaven Angel
Dbanng only hit in India..Hobbit WW sales will destroy Dabangg :P/> and only Salman khan fans will watch..and it'll be another BS movie from him.. The Hobbit On Track For The Biggest December Opening Of All Time 'The Hobbit': Middling reviews don't stop a record opening day at the box office On Friday it looked like The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey might have a hard time topping the all-time biggest December release record belonging to I Am Legend. Today, with the full Friday numbers in, it's clear it's not even a contest. Based on Friday estimates The Hobbit should make around $96 million over the weekend in North America, shattering I Am Legend's $77 million and becoming the biggest opening for any movie set in Middle Earth. The Hobbit Box Office Is Sick, As in Good: $37.5 Million Opening Day The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey tracked down an estimated $37.5 million Friday, its studio reported, the biggest opening day ever for a December release. Audiences liked what they saw, grading the not-quite critically loved, high-frame-rate polarizing Peter Jackson movie an A in exit polling. A completely unscientific Twitter search found that moviegoers were reporting that The Hobbit was sick, as in good, and not making them sick, as in "Hobbit vomit." The Hobbit marks Jackson's return to J.R.R. Tolkien. The biggest opening day for one of his Lord of the Rings movies was The Return of the King's $34.5 million. 'The Hobbit' Chasing $95M Weekend After $37M Box Office Debut Friday "The Hobbit," Peter Jackson's prequel to the blockbuster "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, charged out of the box-office blocks taking in $37.5 million Friday in its North American debut. That puts it on track for a three-day total of between $95 million and $100 million, which would shatter the December record for biggest debut. The previous best was the $77.2 million brought in by "I Am Legend" in 2007." It's been nine years since moviegoers have had the chance to revisit Middle-earth and they were glad to be back, giving "The Hobbit"

NitroNeo
Watched Batman The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 & Green Lantern Emerald Knight , that batman film what a movie , after a long time i felt fans really got what they wanted & the sentence at the movies end Ba Batman, Daarling ! just gave me the chills , freakin awesome stuff can't wait for part 2 , green lantern on the other hand had the best animation & character design in a DC movie but the series of short stories tying into one big story felt boring & not that on a huge scale as it was panning out to be , nevertheless both were epic movies

And none other releasing after Dabangg first weekend too. Though Hobbit should rule IMAX (3screens) in India till 2-3months. Also @zodak, Hope's JTHJ owned Skyfall in UK in its first weekend FYI Edited December 15, 2012 by Mr. Freak
Elessar
Just back from the Hobbit. Decent stuff, 8/10 for me. The first half was going well, but events in the second half seemed so totally random and quite over the top. The riddles scene was absolutely magnificent. shockwave
Saw The Hobbit this evening. Outstanding. Call me stupid or unfortunate but I'd missed LoTR trilogy in theaters, but the good thing was that when I finally watched it I could see all 3 films back to back. Now I am glad I saw The Hobbit in theater, but I have to f**ckin wait for next parts!! For me it's as good as the LoTR trilogy, if not better. The characters were great. While Frodo was great, i think Bilbo is already much more likable character. Music, as always, is excellent. Actually felt goosebumps when the signature tune kicked in (the one that plays on all LoTR title cards). And anyone who's seen the Hobbit knows where that theme plays in this film. Locations were fantastic. Look at Rivendell .. everytime they present it so beautifully. The humor was really good. The opening sections of the film had some really funny scenes. Acting was superb. And Gollum .. wow I loved the ending, it reminded me of Fellowship. Evoking emotions while keeping things subtle. I just loved the film. I sure as hell am going to watch it again! Oh and I enjoyed the movie in 3D .. I saw it in PVR .. their glasses are quite decent.
Solitaire
Watched the Hobbit today. Felt it was a bit drawn out and slow in certain parts. I didn't think it was as epic as the LOTR trilogy but it wasn't bad either (worth the price of admission) and it was visually stunning.
Nemo
massive lol @ lotr nerds having insecurities about an unabashedly entertaining hindi movie. its true hobbit will make more money. when you throw the kind of noney thats been thrown at hobbit it will be a joke if you cant at lest recover it. all i can say is in the 1.5 hrs that it takes for the midgets to leave the shire, inspector chulbul pandey would have kicked gigantic amount of asses, done countless pelvic thrusts and made love to women numbering more than the population of middle earth. True that people like dabang type of movies more these days.Story wory se unko koi matlab nahi. as opposed to the masterful stephen king esq spinning of lore that was given by jab tak hai jaan right ? dante77
Singham is the best masala movie of recent time I liked it much more than dabangg.
Big Boss
^I though Singham was okay but not that great. Could have been a lot better. That side story about fatty and that mobile lost crap and the way Ajay Devgan stops time like Prince of Persia was pathetic. Also the way he became emo and started crying was lame. Ending was good though. Dabangg>>>>Singham>>>Rowdy Rathore. All 3 are watchable though. Rest all like Ready, Bodyguard, Son of Sardar, Joker etc are absolute crap and might cause brain hemorrhage . Saw Agnipath 2/10. Absolute sh*t movie. It seems the director etc had no idea how to progress story. Songs thrown in between just for the heck of it. In one scene Hritik is sitting with Kancha seeing item song, next scene he tells him he wants his town, then Kancha beats the crap out of him and then says he needs Gaytonde's head in place of his town (he could have said this without beating), then in next scene he is above Hritik while he is sleeping telling about Rishi Kapoor selling his sister and while Hritik comes back from that island to Mumbai and Rishi Kapoor is still selling his sister (in public, while police are waiting for order from Home ministry WTF? Police cant do anything without permission?), then Hritik comes with an army of hijadas and they start killing people with swords (swords vs guns wow) and Hritik shoots the buyers but Rishi Kapoor is adamant on selling his sis. Hritik punches him and goes to his sis, Rishi comes from behind and puts him down and again tries to sell his sis (no idea to who, he doesn't even try to kill both) Then Hritik finally decides to continue fighting and kill him. Also all of a sudden Priyanka and his mother show up (perfect timing, also Priyanka is shown like after an hour) and then all the melodrama etc. The movie is full with such random scenes coming out of nowhere. Almost every scene looks out of place. What a crap movie.
