Apparently, he was a complete dick and called people some crap just cos there was a crowd (a relatively docile well-behaved crowd) and made some derogatory references to the people who'd organized that event. Sadly, these people still waited shamelessly (my friends included) to hear his speech before the movie started. He's a wonderful actor but I guess he's just an a**hole otherwise :P/>/> I'm guessing the court asked him to try to settle it amicably? Maybe they think the issue will just go away? Or do they expect him to cut the movie? Edit: I'm hearing the verdict is positive for the movie's release... that true? Yeah the ban has been lifted, but TN govt may move the case to SC, heights of disgrace And hey Kamal Hassan's a larger than life actor and many are short tempered and ill-mannered(but we won't know on the outside much), plus think on how his mindset will be when all his money(in several crores) is hanging in the balance! I don't like Rajini's so-called acting at all.... but in general the more down-to-earth and simple person seems to be Rajini. Not that how they are personally matters, just saying it as it is. Ok ok lets not start a comparison here... Anyway ban has been lifted, but TN govt has appealed to the high court. The hearing will come up in court on Wednesday. Hopefully it'll get released without any cuts... Kamal takes his movies with utmost care and dedication. It'll be a shame if it has bits and pieces cut off. EDIT: Now a song from David has been removed because they offended certain communities. Why are Indians turning into a bunch of over sensitive pansies? And what about that SRK issue regarding Pakistan? “Its purely because of Jaya’s vengeance on Kamal: 1. Kamal attended chidambaram function, together with Karunanidhi and prasied Chidambaram. Jaya dont like Chidambaram. 2. Kamal sold the DTH rights to Sun tv at first when Jaya TV asked for the satellite rights he did not give that. 3. Finally he sold most of the areas(DISTRIBUTION) to Udhayanidhi Stalin (DMK). The guys from the Muslim party had the assembly elections with ADMK. Thats why things happened very fast. Vishwaroopam first faced DTH, where the movie was to release direct to DTH on first day along with thetheatre release, many theatre owners protested against this, the release date was pushed and to solve the problem it was agreed that the movie will release on DTH a week later. So Jan 25 was the planned release date, but a few days before that some local muslim fringe group, started bashing kamal Hassan, and claimed that movie might contain content that is against their people/religion. Kamal Hassan with intent of good will setup a private screening for a group of muslims to show and prove that movie had nothing aimed at muslims/religion, but this back fired and they wanted the movie to banned. TN govt bought it and sanctioned for a 15 day ban on the movie release. Case was filed in Madras High court, both sides were heard, judge had a private viewing to decide the verdict. Kamal Hassan won the case since the judge found nothing questionable and also the movie was already CBFC certified. So as per that verdict the movie wasa supposed to release today, but TN govt took it a step further and filed a plea again to impose ban until feb 5th. The division bench panel accepted this and the movie is now banned again. Final verdict for this will be on Feb 6th. Kamal Hassan has moved the case to Supreme Court. Also made public statements where he said that its more of a personal vendetta against him by some govt body(obviously its JJayalalitha(CM of TN)) and he has no more reason to stay in TN where freedom and secularism don't mean sh*t anymore. Even as per many muslim friends/people views, it has nothing offensive. I don't know what is wrong with that statement. Although, he never said anything like that, but still feeling insecure in India is not a biggie.
