Bird Bird Bird
Saw Skyfall. M really dies. End of an era with Judi Dench ! The whole crew got emotional while shooting that scene. Sam Mendes was crying. Can't really fathom a Bond movie without her ! Beautiful movie by the way. Craig is undoubtedly the best Bond EVER !
Tyler
Yeah but now we have Voldemort as M! Skyfall is great but Casino Royale is still the best Bond movie ever. There are things Skyfall does better though, mainly the gorgeous cinematography, a better climax and great action scenes. Falls short on the plot side though. I loved how things came full circle at the end but Silva's plan didn't make much sense to me. He was ridiculously smart but he still storms into a court fully armed like a crazy terrorist. And don't even get me started on Q plugging in Silva's laptop into the MI-6 network Yeah good job Q! Anyway, I still enjoyed the movie. The better parts overshadowed the crappy stuff. Picked up the blu-ray last week. Can't wait to watch it again!

The part where Bond gets shot by Moneypenny and falls in the river. Very nicely done ! Not to mention the gorgeous soundtrack. With the remodeling of Moneypenny, Q and M, lots of plot-lines have opened up for the next Bond movies. Edit: Do see the extras on the bluray, specially the M dying part. They decide to shoot it last as a respect to Judi Dench. Very emotional. Edited March 11, 2013 by Bird Bird Bird
Aftrunner
Skyfall also has IMO the best opening credits of any Bond film. The song is top notch and the CGI in the credits seems to meld from one scene to another quite beautifully. Skyfall really misses out on two things that could turn it into a great Bond movie. First is a proper Bond girl, neither of the two in the film really make any impact. Second is the classic big Bond stunts. It seems like they blew their load in the opening sequence and then its just nothing. Even the ending is more Bourne than Bond (and yeah, treading old grounds with that argument). Bardem was fantastic though. With someone else instead of him, the movie would have been substantially worse.
Nemo
Speaking of opening credits, just watched watchmen yesterday (late to the party, i know; but wanted to read the book before the movie- liked them both) and its opening credits just blow everything else away. First you have the gruesome murder of comedian preceding this:- (for some reason, can't find the "times they are a changing" song version ) Loved it Edited March 12, 2013 by Nemo
Aftrunner
Yeah that was great. Watchman too has some fantastic moments. My favorite is Dr Manhattan's monologue starting "I am looking at the stars..." with the fantastic Pruit Igoe & Prophecies in the background. One of the best sequences in any film recently. Snyder might be a bit of a hack at the best of times but he did a phenomenal job with Watchmen. Its probably the best adaptation that could be done by anyone considering the source material and kinda sad that Alan Moore refuses to even watch the film. One of the reasons I love Stephen King is that he understands the difference between the original source material and the film. And seems always happy to be associated with the film even if it sucks. Alan Moore is a bit of an egomaniacal twit.

Snake
I agree with Afty with regards to Skyfall. I missed the Bond girl/girls, not to mention a good car chase sequence (the DB5 ) The only good action sequence was the one at the start with bond jumping onto the train and then fixing his cuff. Boss scene that.Sad about M, but then she is suffering from macular degeneration and she cant continue cause of that
Elessar
Skyfall's plot detracts from the experience hugely for me. The villain succeeds in everything he wants. MI6 is made to look like a fool. Silva strolls out of their secure facility and openly attacks a security council meeting, and walks away from it too. Bond kidnaps M, leading her away from all other security, and then lets her get killed. He should have been court marshalled for that. And yet he and new M do not seem perturbed with the outcome, happily looking forward to the bright future. Still, more entertaining than QoS. Excellent acting and cinematography. Ne0
^^ they made a vanishable car in one of the bond movies, plot is the last thing you should be looking for when it involves 007 .... IMO, what skyfall lacked was pace, and action set pieces :-/ And I found the villain to be too inspired from TDK's joker !
avkash
so many spoilers, must control, still to watch and I would love to see Evil dead in theater as well but they will cut a lot of the movie, it apparently has so much gore Edited March 12, 2013 by avkash

It wouldn't have been a problem if they weren't going for a realistic take on Bond with CR. And yes, Silva was definitely Joker-inspired. The MI6 HQ scene especially... Aftrunner
It still bums me out that they had one of the hottest red heads in the world in Emma Stone and decided to "Blond" her and now we are stuck with .... her. And neither one of them is a patch on Kirsten Dunst in the first trilogy.
dylanjosh
All would've been right if they casted Jennifer Lawrence as MJ.. cast her in everything But she's already Mystique. :/
