Big Boss
Avengers was a bunch of one liners with few lame and few great action scenes. There was not much plot development. I am not complaining though. I enjoyed it, though not as good as TDKR or MoS or Iron Man 1. It really did feel like they were focussing too much on Iron Man and Tony Stark compared to what Avengers really is. It was more like Iron Man and friends rather than Avengers. I dont blame them as Iron Man has become Marvel's biggest franchise compared to Caps and Thor and Hulk, and they gave what people wanted. Still, the final battle was no where as awesome as Man of Steel action considering the fact that there were tons of super beings fighting where as in MoS they are 2-3 at max. I liked avengers, but captain America should be renamed Gayptain America, the only reason they released his movie was to include him in the plot

Most impressions I've read here and other places has been complete opposite. It didn't feel like Iron Man & Friends at all. If anything it was Hulk who stole the show. Anyway to each his own I guess. Big Boss
Well almost everything starts with Tony. Even the battle happens at his tower. His support cast is shown. No one from Hulk or Thor or Captain America movies makes an appearance except SHEILD. Tony Stark declares war on Loki. Iron Man saves the day with his almost a sacrifice. He saves the ship. Hopefully it was only for this movie. Maybe Avengers 2 will have other hero becoming center stage and saving the day, just like comics where everyone plays their part in different issues. But it did feel like Iron Man and his friends. And I bet if ever a Justice League movie is made, it will feel like Batman and friends, because Batman has got success in DC movie universe as Iron Man has in Marvel movie universe. achilles
That was also coz Robert Downey is a much bigger star than anyone else in the movie. And Thor's villain was this movie's villain too. So there was that.
Big Boss
Robert Downey is a much bigger star than anyone else in the movie He wasn't that big until Iron Man hit. I mean sure, he was awesome but not money maker before Iron Man which revived his career. And that is what I meant. Iron Man is the biggest franchise and hence the focus of the Avengers. Very sensible business decision. And yeah, Loki part. It made sense because none of other villains are capable of bringing Avengers together on their own, even Loki was puppet. Mandarin probably but IM

Even in the JL comics, it's usually Batman that hogs the limelight in the bog comic events. However, after MoS, i think there's a case to be made for greater screentime for Supes. After all, the badass SOB snapped Zod's neck after destroying most of Metropolis.
Big Boss
Even in the JL comics, it's usually Batman that hogs the limelight Yeah but not that much. He hogs limelight way more in JL animated movies. Comics is kinda balanced (haven't read much) TV series was quite balanced. And about destroying Metropolis, pretty sure most of the buildings were evacuated when they fought it out. Remember when that spaceship came into center, every one was running, and fight happens much later. So not many people were killed. And Zod was not proud and honorable warrior, who would agree to fight in deserted area to avoid collateral damage

Nemo
Robert downey jr. didnt become a market name only after iron man. He was a very well known and bank-able star before that, an academy award nomination before he turned 30 speaks for itself. It is just that he had a massive nose dive in mid-late 90s and fell off the radar. Iron man did give him the resurgence anx brought him to the heights he had reached earlier in his career in 20s. Of course if you are to compare his career right before and after Iron man the yes, it was the turning point -------------------------- Watched Fukrey, very very watchable. Nice movie with amazing girls. Richa chaddha Movie has got a simple story that is acted and directed superbly. Recommended.
dante77
Pure blind DC/Superman fanboyism in this page Avengers was awesome and saying it was Iron man and friends is just a big lame excuse of deliberately criticizing the movie. He had the best one liners and since spidey was not there, he is the only one remain to put those. All characters were very balanced. people hate everything these days. If Avengers was not a good superhero movie then what is?

Aftrunner
Saw The Sting. What a fantastic movie. Its over 2 hours and not a single wasted shot. The dialogue was crisp and the performances fantastic. Did Naughty Dog ever say where they got their inspiration of Sully from. Cause Paul Newman is Sully in this. Like to the letter. Same mannerisms, same talking style and even the same mustache.
